The quarter finals r now set and theres gonna be a new name on the trophy. Darts is in such an exciting place right now because of the unpredictable nature of it. Stowe Buntz has done amazingly well and no one would have thought hell come out of the group, let alone topping it and then reaching the quarters. He now rematches Bunting and this will be a real tough test, if he comes through that game, this could be a fairytale run for him here. Heta did what he needed to against an out of sorts MVG who hasnt looked good at all this tournament. Rob Cross on the other hand has looked absolutely fantastic and the game between him and Aspinall was a brilliant high quality affair and before the match i called it as a 50/50 coin toss coz its really tough to call but was leaning slightly towards Cross based on how well hes played in this tournament and the match didnt disappoint. Really enjoyed that last game and now the business end of this tournament begins with everything best of 31 legs from now until a new Champion is crowned.

I used to love watching Rob Cross play, he used to pause before throwing just for the double, but now he does it after almost every dart! From Aspinall retrieving his darts, when left with 40 it took Cross 20 seconds to throw the 3 darts eventually pinning double 5!!!!!

What luck can people have in darts? Bounce-outs for their opponents, very rare and should not decide games anyway. Opponent playing badly? That's not luck, that's sport. Referee not seeing oche violations? Only heard of that once. Draught up on stage that only blows when the opponent is throwing? Wasp stinging the opponent and not you? These things are so rare. I struggle to see how luck comes into somebody winning games of darts, sorry.

Player of the night: Rob Cross. He was on fire tonight. Nathan put up a great fight against him but it wasn’t enough this time. Bunting v Noppert was a bit difficult to watch. They missed 50 darts at doubles between them! Maybe Buntz has a chance of making the semi finals here…

If your opponent's darts land in the wrong place that is not luck, it is bad aiming, release, etc etc. There is no luck in darts other than a once-in-a-blue-moon bounce out which would only decide the result of a game when the player let it get to him, which would be bad psychology rather than anything to do with luck.
