should it cancel by 50 if you reach the center for all values?

I have a question sir. To obtain pure resistive load, I should connect the 0.077 lambda length transmission line which has a characteristic impedance of 50 ohm right??
@felicityoswald61595 жыл бұрын
is this admittance smith chart or impedance smith chart? We used normalized impedance of the load. Should I use admittance chart when I use normalized admittance of the load? Does using normalized admittance change the process?
@RFDesignbasics5 жыл бұрын
This is quarter wave transformer matching which uses series networks. That's why all the process are done on a impedance Smith chart. Only for shunt stub matching circuits, admittance chart is used.

Do you think you can scan your notes and then share a link to the scanned notes? It'd be helpful with a second window open to follow along your notes as we watch the video. Otherwise, this was a great video. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion.. unfortunately I couldn't preserve the notes.. I will definitely do it from next videos.

This is what I need. Do you also have half wave transformer matching? I'm just started with transformer matching today, this video is helpful.
@RFDesignbasics3 жыл бұрын
For half wavelength the load impedance will repeat itself. So there is no possibility of designing matching circuit using half wave.

Can you please show how to test its bandwidth response?
@RFDesignbasics5 жыл бұрын
For testing BW response, it's better to use some kind of circuit simulator e.g. ADS, circuit schematic of HFSS etc. In these tools microstrip lines are available for simulation. Just draw it as per the circuit and convert the load impedance into R,L or C network at designed frequency. Plot the graph of S11 in dB and frequency and find the range of frequencies having less than 10 dB S11. Calculating theoretically is little bit tedious.

Good lecture but train whistle in background is damned annoying. Wonder where the lecturer is.
