Thanks for the vid, very relaxing & such beautiful scenery! Couple of questions , does snow shoes help in knee & waiste deep snow & can they be used on this type of hike, terrain? Also where can Zi get really good trip planning info for hikes l8ke this in Washington & Oregon States? I see in the reply the trail or locations have names or nicknames. Thanks for any replies.

@@thomastuorto9929 You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the scenery! Snowshoes can be helpful in deep snow, especially in flatter areas, but on steep slopes or soft snow, they’re less effective-you’ll likely sink in more. For planning hikes like this, there are various hiking pages (like Washington Trail Association or Oregon Hikers) and resources online that can provide great trail info. You can also research trails that lead to specific destinations for a good idea. Keep in mind, some routes aren't formal trails but are more like scramblers' routes, which you often discover by being out there and exploring. Checking out trail reports and local recommendations can also be helpful when planning your trip. Hope that helps!

Really beautiful video. Looks like tough sledding (pardon the pun) to hike in that much snow.

Snowshoes are great for distributing weight on flat or gently sloping terrain, but on steep slopes with soft snow, they may not provide the necessary traction and stability, which can make them less effective and potentially unsafe.
