Thanks so much! Ours was just installed and I guess a contractor left a sugary coffee for a few days. Hot soapy water didn’t work, acetone, nope.. whitening toothpaste, gone with ease.. awesome!

For those who still have that problem, 91% rubbing alcohol remove turmeric stains completely as long as you dont leave it on there for a 5 days like in his case, and acetone does the same for tomato stains. All other stains usually will come out easily.

does using chemical like acetone or rubbing alcohol damage the countertop?
@tgime12 ай бұрын
Yeah I wouldn’t risk acetone.

No I've used it before for tomatoes stains which are the hardest to remove if left on there. My countertop is white quartz. If you have doubts, test in a hidden area. I've done this before

Do NOT use a magic eraser, as you will end up (scuffing up) the finish on the counter top and end up with a dull spot in the are you used the eraser on.

Not all quartz created equal. Unfortunately a lot of all these "calcatta" slabs are from China with who knows what % of quartz in it and if it's sealed properly. Go with American made like Cambria

What about a rust stain? One question, don’t quartz countertops have a finish and wont acetone eat that finish?

Try the toothpaste. Worked for me and the stain was 98% gone. Faded to the point where it was very hard to notice without looking extremely closely.

Now what removes blue ink stains from the countertop?
@NicoleHurkaАй бұрын
Blue or ink of any kind is the devil. Alcohol is the first go to to help lift it but often isn't sufficient. I had some success with Motsenbocker’s ink / marker stain remover but after many hours of effort, ultimately I was only able to lift the stain by about 80%. I used it on a vinyl fabric of sorts so I'm not sure how well it would go with quartz. Worth a shot. I would only ever use cold water.

Have you tried Whitening Toothpaste?

Try bleach for a few seconds and scrub it clean. You have to wash it off right away with warm water and lots of soap. Wash it a few times to make sure there is no bleach residue left over. Someone commented this hack in the video and I got a year old stain out. It wasn’t kimchi but I’m sure it will work.

Yes, best thing is to wipe it right away or within couple of hours and it should not stain.

Owners of granite/quartz are slaves to the stone. It almost makes me want to go with Formica to avoid the stress.
@carlydoehler22916 ай бұрын
We did a leathered granite. No sealing because there’s no finish, no issues with what we can and cannot use to clean it (it’s stone!) No worries over a hot pan being set down. Never been happier with countertops!

@@carlydoehler2291 Is leathered granite safe even though unsealed?
@gamerwhiz68475 ай бұрын
@@cygnus6623 That is true, it will burn the formica, and too much water will buckle it. However I liked never having to worry about every little thing staining it like spices & metals or endangering the seal like citrus fruit spills or cleansers containing citric acid (which most cleansers contain).
@carlydoehler22915 ай бұрын
@@gamerwhiz6847yes, totally. It’s also a natural product. Very safe.

How to remove rust
@bombdiggitymedia66352 ай бұрын
1. Try the Whitening toothpaste. if does not work 2) Try Baking soda with water if does not work 3) You can try Softscrub very small quantity, softscrub will remove the top layer of quartz, so make sure to dilute it as it is pretty abrasive (so try at your own risk).

Bar Keepers Friend small tiny amount or tiny amount of CRL cleaner (quote : & i agree - "You should avoid using acidic solutions like vinegar on quartz countertops, as they can etch and dull the surface. Not all cleaning agents are safe for quartz or stone surfaces, so you can consult a professional for large or stubborn stains.")

Well good for you! I am in a full time accelerated BSN program with 3 cats, 1 dog, 3 kids, and two are in the spectrum. Additionally, I have a house that is over 3k sqft and I clean it all by myself. There is no time for me to worry about cleaning countertops straightaway.

I would have agreed with you - but my mother who is OCD when it comes to cleaning made some food with tomato paste/sauce or whatever it was. Ran out to deliver it to her grandchildren before boarding a plane. Came back and there was a stain on her quartz countertop. Turns out she's human afterall. Still denies it to this day

Also this could be helpful to know when making a decision about quartz in a rental, where other people may not care to clean as often as you would if it's your own.

Baking soda works on all those stains. You need to wet it and make it a paste… not sprinkle it on. Also acetone is going to eat your countertops. I have a quartz countertop and here’s how to maintain it. Clean it with water and dish soap. Disinfect it with rubbing alcohol. Get stains off with a thick baking soda and water paste and rub it in. Be generous don’t just powder it. Done.
