There is a sequence the begins at 2:15 culminating at 2:19 with a moment i call a false barrida. Carlos barely touches Gisela's left foot with his left foot and he appears to catch it with his right. As Gisela makes her forward step her right knee right comes up immediately to avoid his right leg. I am enchanted with this moment. I have seen him do this with other dancers with the same effect. I know how to set this up, but my followers never raise their knee like that creating a trip hazard about half the time. I am very interested in what creates that impluse for the follower to lift her knee like that and avoid my leg.
