Heute geht es mit dem Deutschlandticket von Berlin nach Quedlinburg. Anders als in Berlin und Brandenburg, ist die Mitnahme des Hundes in Sachsen-Anhalt nicht im Deutschlandticket enthalten ist. Somit musste ich für Amelie 15€ zusätzlich zahlen.
Die größte Sehenswürdigkeit ist die Stadt selbst. Auf einer Fläche von gut 80 ha können über 2.000 malerische Fachwerkhäuser bestaunt werden.

I shall never understand what possessed the owners of these beautiful half-timbered buildings, to surrender their dignity and paint them in such bright colors. Has Germany and other Alpine regions decided to become "westernized", by making their lovely old towns look like an amusement park?
