I am so elated to have found other human beings on this planet who know and adore this particular Queen song. People usually look at me (very) funny when I name this as one of my favourites of all time. Surprisingly - a lot of Queen fans, have never laid ears on this track before. Blows my mind!

As a queen fan, this is one of the first songs that I heard! Definitely one of my favourite, it just makes me really happy ❤

@@anas6504people keep saying don't stop me now is their happiest song, if not the happiest song ever. No, it's this. Makes me want to tap dance on a table, and I can't tap.

I adore this song...probably one of my absolute favorites of Queen...it just has this fantastic old time feel to it..I actually heard it for the first time as the background song on a Buster Keaton tribute video and it fit so perfectly to 1920's silent Buster Keaton...I was floored when I found out it was Queen. They had such diverse styles and went outside the box so much. Queen was just brilliant.

I love when rock bands experiment with swing beats. Even the ska band, Sublime has done a swing beat in one of their songs!
@nachochulk50808 жыл бұрын
+cooLoutlet The thing with Queen is that they were never a "rock band". They had a wide variety of styles since the very beggining. Freddie usually brought that to the band, while Bryan was more the "rock guy". They were both brilliant in any style anyway.
@MisterAppleEsq6 жыл бұрын
Brian wasn't just "the rock guy". Think '39, Good Company, et cetera.

Also later on in the career of the band, Freddie wrote Princes of the Universe. Now that is headbanger...plus he also wrote Stone Cold Crazy from the previous album to this. Lets not forget during most of the 80s, the big hits were either written or at least started by Roger & John Another One Bites The Dust Under Pressure (credited to the whole band but that bass line for god sake) Radio Ga Ga I Want To Break Free One Vision (Roger started the lyrics) A Kind Of Magic Breakthru The Invisible Man

Every song on this album is absolutely brilliant. I love Queen (especially their 70's material), but nothing beats 'A night at the opera'.

What amazes me is that the 'vocal brass and woodwind' sound has the same kind of timbre often delivered by the Red Special in similar songs, like Good Company.

I could tell you many singers better than him. In their own ways, though. Freddie was a fantastic singer, but not the best. He was his own voice. No one can be a better Freddie. but Freddie can't be a better anyone. ;)
@SiBanstead895 жыл бұрын
Same as Mick Jagger, Robert Plant & Roger Daltrey. All are unique in their own way. Much imitated, rarely equalled and never surpassed Interestingly enough the final two I mentioned sang at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, and they both sang the songs as if they sang them originally, with Plant commenting that people were changing the keys the songs as they couldnt match Freddies range.

I dont agree nobody could better to say can sing in every style there was just one person and it was ,is *Freddie
