@@jackwhitbread4583I agree, I find Freddie’s performances entertaining but Adam entertains but his voice pulls at your heart and soul and leaves a warm sense of joy … no words can explain it if you don’t feel it. His music got me through some very lonely times during COVID isolation.

This is certainly true but it is people like Freddie who have made it possible for performers like Adam and Adam will be the first to admit that Freddie paved the way for him and others. Freddie was far more than a singer and Frontman, Freddie was a force of nature and nobody could get in the way of his dreams. I love both Freddie and Adam and also performers like Bowie and Prince who made "different" the new normal in rock.

Yes, Adam is classically trained. He took voice lessons thruout his teen years and even had a year of opera training. He still works with a vocal coach to this day. Such training has not only allowed him to sing different styles and genres, with different tones or sounds, it also has given him great breath control. Also, importantly, his training and experience in musical theater has taught him how to take care of his voice and sing for two hours on multiple nights without causing strain or damage.

Cool to see this being reacted to. No words describe how spectacular the entire live show was. Every song was this good. Random fact: I’m the girl in the mermaid wig you see at the end with one of my beautiful bffs who was shining in gold. It was worth standing at the stage for 6 and a half hours before they started, to be front row. We cried like babies during that performance. I’m gay, it hit home. It was the most amazing tribute.

Gorgeous performance. I can't believe that so many people still refuse to listen to Queen without Freddie and act like the band needed to die because Freddie did. It would be a shame for new generations of people not to be able to hear these songs and see the total production that is a Queen live show. Freddie never would have wanted for his music to stop and I truly believe he would love Adam, perhaps he sent him to us. I was lucky enough to see Queen live when Freddie was still with us all and I will cherish that memory for the rest of my days but I am also so glad that Adam is able and very happy to perform with Brian and Roger and honor Freddie's memory. Thank you for your reaction.

Totally agree. Adam has himself said multiple times he's not trying to replace Freddie, he's just doing his best to honor him in his own way. In the Netflix doxumentary The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story (I wholeheartedly recommend to watch it) Roger and Brian gush over Adam's talent just like the rest of us. And imho their total endorsement and appreciation should be enough for anyone to accept that Adam is the perfect frontman for Queen now that we don't have Freddie anymore.

I actually believe if Freddie was alive I don’t think he be as popular as he is now. Brian and roger did a great job keeping his legacy a live but if he was here he be almost 80 and his performances today would not be even close to those in the 1980s. Plus I don’t think he would have continued with the band. He was going in his own direction. It’s because of Adam, Queen is a big arena touring band, keeping the legacy Of Queen and Freddie music alive.

@@CJ-oi7zm I agree to an extent but had Freddie lived longer, he would have needed to have throat surgery which might have made a difference in the longevity of his singing ability. Freddie had tried the "go my own way" thing which was not received to the point he had hoped until after his death, and admitted that he had been an ass, coming to the realization that he had always known, which was that with Queen, the total was greater than the sum of the parts. Honestly, I could see Roger or Brian being the ones to break up the band because they were the ones who were always fighting and always threatening to quit. Also, at that point, Queen were all working separately, not really working as a unit as they once had. You are right about Brian and Roger doing all in their power to keep Freddie's legacy going, they have been really involved in that from the time Freddie passed and Brian never really got comfortable with losing Freddie and then the slam of losing his dad only amplified that for him. Brian and Roger were both fine with going off into their own music careers and pursuing other things and interests in their lives, but Queen wouldn't go Quietly and their little fun tour with Paul Rogers, doing Queen and Bad Company stuff on the road only solidified the idea that Queen was more than a band, it was a legacy that people still wanted to be a part of. Adam has been a huge boost for Queen because he has the ability to do all the music and do it in the key it was written. Also, Queen shows are now like huge Broadway extravagant performances becoming more and more elaborate with every tour. Adam melds perfectly into Brian and Roger's concept of what a Broadway performance of what a Queen show should look like and they all have been having a great time pressing those edges of the envelope. Adam's theatrical background, campy style and incredible makeup only enhances the whole thing.

Oh, Hege, THANK you for this video! You know Adam Lambert is my absolute favorite male singer and this performance is magnificent! What a tribute to the Pulse nightclub victims (and to all victims of violence or prejudices, for that matter). I love how his voice just soars as his notes go higher and higher. You made me smile with your discussion of the word distortion choices that I’ve asked about before (forever vs. forevaaa) because now I understand and appreciate the reason behind that. As you know, I used to think it sounded stilted or pretentious when singers would turn those “rr” sounds into “aah” sounds 🙄 It would have been kinda hilarious if anyone had seen me reacting to YOUR reactions and analysis here because I was so constantly in agreement that I’m sure I looked like a little bobble head doll 😂 I love how effortlessly Adam can transition his voice from powerful belting to whispery-soft light breathy vocals. And can we just take a moment to appreciate his tremendous range? Sheesh❣️He has complete command of the stage and of his voice…and of our hearts 💕💕BRAVO on this one❣️🙂🌈👸 Sorry this comment is so long but you know how much I love me some Adam! LOVED @adamlambert Lots of OMGs, phenomenal & wows. Told you, I said. I last saw Queen in 1986 at Wembley London, Freddy was awesome back then. I was happily surprised by Adam Lambert... boygeorgeofficial Went to see @adamlambert performing with #Queen in Sydney and it was fabulous. Adam’s voice is astounding and he does not need to apologize for not being Freddy Mercury. Adam brings his own flavor to those timeless songs and he is a wonderful artist in his own right. Loved the glittering 70s platforms. Brian singing ‘love of my life’ was beautiful. No need to apologize Brian you bring beauty and vulnerability to my fave Queen song! Roger on ‘It’s A Kind Of Magic’ was also full of feeling. Very Bowie-esque and I loved the drum solos and Brian’s axe lamenting. It was a night with everything. GO you will live for it! @adamlambert I saw queen 5 times 77-86. Saw u with the guys in 2014 and again on Wednesday in Sydney. U enhance their brilliance and it is just as enjoyable watching them now as it was with Freddie.credit to you. Haha my dad a massive Queen fan. My parents saw Freddie live. Yes Freddie not Freddy. Now considers @adamlambert as “Freddie’s heir apparent”. Was stunned by his performance. This is Adams legacy
