My father was a stern military man, who had no time for rock music, or an youth culture, and was scornful of "those musicians with their long hair, who need to get a real job". One day he went to a colleagues' funeral. This song was played. My father was absolutely blown away by it, and stopped off at a store on the way home to enquire about it, and subsequently bought the album A Day at the Races. My father lived another 32 years after that, but this was the only record he owned that was not military bands. I heard it frequently, when he thought nobody else was home. He has passed now, but this song always reminds me of him.

Queen never was just a rock band. Even when they started off that way, they were an acorn heading up to their eventual status as a magnificent thing of unparalleled glory. Even your dad was no match for them! :)

How special can a nation be, when one of the greatest bands ever wrote a song entirely for you. Japanese people: Arigatou! for your behaviour all the time, your hospitality and correct manners. You are an example for all the nations in the world. They can learn a thing or two from you.

i love how brian harmonizes himself with the crowd!
This drove me to tears. Really, crying like a baby. Not only because of the immense power that music has, which moves the audience to sing together because of the love they have for an artist (which in turn was the reason Queen wrote this song) but also because Brian is so pure-hearted, showing the most beautiful feelings an artist can have and because of the bittersweet moment he has, missing Freddie and playing to very dedicated fans.

How can anyone not love this? I wish he'd sung longer. Beautiful!
My eyes started to tear when brian started singing the chorus then to Japanese chorus I was also sing but water was rolling down my eyes. I learn new Japanese words from this song. I sang this song twice yesterday and its 5:31am. I know should be in bed. When Brian said the first time they came to Japan, I said to my self "when Freddie was alive" I'm from Australia and I learn new languages from Queen like Las palabras de Amos, rendezvous, Teo torriate knomama iko, aisuhrito yo, shizukana yo ini hikario tomoshi, itoshiki oshieo idaki(sorry if I spelt it wrong) and Hungarian of a video I saw Freddie singing a Hungarian lullaby

When I'm gone No need to wonder if I ever think of you The same moon shines The same wind blows For both of us, and time is but a paper moon Be not gone Though I'm gone It's just as though I hold the flower that touches you A new life grows The blossom knows There's no one else could warm my heart as much as you Be not gone Let us cling together as the years go by Oh my love, my love In the quiet of the night Let our candle always burn Let us never lose the lessons we have learned 手を取り合って このままでいこう 愛する人よ 静かな宵に 光を灯し 愛しき教えを抱き Hear my song Still think of me the way you've come to think of me The nights grow long But dreams live on Just close your pretty eyes, and you can be with me Dream on 手を取り合って このままでいこう 愛する人よ 静かな宵に 光を灯し 愛しき教えを抱き When I'm gone They'll say we're all fools, and we don't understand Oh, be strong Don't turn your heart We're all You're all For all For always Let us cling together as the years go by Oh my love, my love In the quiet of the night Let our candle always burn Let us never lose the lessons we have learned
