Great work as usual Nic. I was on the ferry 8.30 til 10.30, you were right these were ticketed sailings one afternoon and one evening. It was amazing to see the ship and city light up from the river.

Hi Nick there was seven woman to do the bottle 🍾 smash. And yes he was from red dwarf and coronation Street the opera singer already sang he might be on later aswell. Also Matt and Emma Willis are also there. Also Nick fireworks they said from 9-50pm to 10-15pm tonight.

Nick! What a moment! One of the biggest ocean liners in the world. There's a difference between an ocean liner and a cruise ship.

There is only one ocean liner in the world and that is Queen Mary 2. Queen Anne is a cruise ship.

@@richardhenshaw5660 No mate, she's a cruise ship with a shallow keel. Queen Mary 2 is the only ocean liner afloat. I know which one I'd want to cross the Atlantic in...definitely NOT Queen Anne.

At the pier head the loudspeakers told us that the bottle was going to slide down a wire & hit the Queen Anne name. They may have shown it on the big screen but the ferry terminal was obstructing our view. So with a perfect view of the ship from the sea wall, we waited for a bottle sliding down a wire to hit the Queen Anne name which we assumed to be the name on the side of the bow....and didn't see a thing.☹ BBC North West Tonight didn't show it either.

It's called the Ships Whistle, not the horn. It makes the same sound regardless what its called.

You need a good researcher or befriend a journalist who could help you out with a lot of your projects Nick, point you to events, schedules, locations etc and advise you on getting the inside track. Still great to watch though, it’s a magnificent ship and such a momentous occasion. Thanks for sharing it with us. I miss the Wirral & Liverpool, must get back over soon
