Thank you for the ironing suggestions for Fableism it is very helpful. Especially as there is very little information about how to use Fableism but very contradictory. How do you stitch it 1/4” seams or larger. I don’t want to wash my FQs but don’t want the blocks to unravel either. N

I do keep my seams at 1/4”, though you could do 3/8” as long as you keep it consistent so the blocks stay the same size. I’ve made several quilts with only the Fableism fabric and with other quilting fabric (Kona solids & Essex Linens). The more traditional fabric is more stable so that can help on the seams, especially when you first start using it in quilts. It does ravel a bit but I find with the Best Press (starch) and gentle handling, it is not much more than your average quilting fabric - I just try to keep from doing tugging or pulling or even rough ironing. A light touch with the iron is pretty effective. It does have more give/stretch sort of. On the curved pieces I find the wovens like Fableism easier to ease in though because of the give and it lays flatter when finished. I tend to not pre-wash FQ unless I think a fabric will definitely bleed (hand dyed or really dark blue/reds) and then I treat it with Retayne or wash the quilts after they are completed with Synthropol. The resulting quilts have been very soft, the unique textures of the fabrics really give it a nice feel and unique look. I like the organic colors and they seem to blend well with your more basic quilting fabrics. Thanks for checking out the video - I have a few more quilt patterns I’m working on with the Fableism and always love questions!
