One of the greatest men in all of British history! Uniquely honored in a manner usually reserved for the Crown and the nation. For his life's work, for preserving the nation and for standing firm in the darkest of times, he deserves eternal gratitude. He has done more for Great Britain than many a crowned head.

You kinda missed an important part about WHY she arrived first to Churchill’s funeral. She wanted to be there but also knew if she arrived last then it would be mostly about her, not Churchill nor his wife and family. She arrived first so that people could see her and then she would no longer be the main attraction once the Churchill family arrived.

The Queen did her duty to the best of her ability. She knew all the rules. During her reign, she had to make some hard decisions and others not so much. She was human (we all have faults), but her commitment to the crown and its subjects was unwavering. Thank you

Prince Phillip planned his own funeral which was then subject to the covid rules at that time. The raw grief of the Queen as she sat alone in her pew was one of the saddest sights I have ever seen.

Churchill is even recognized as a great leader in the US. Probably more so than some of our leaders. We have buildings named after him in the US. The guy was perfect for his job and was just what the Allies needed at the time.

That's right simple. He didn't want streets blocked off and rolled around the city with god knows how many on horseback. Chapel, service, buried that's it...simple. Royal funerals are planned years beforehand each with a different code. The exception was Diana who there was no plan so thet had to use the QM's

Churchill thought of Queen Elizabeth II as a daughter, and he looked after her and really help formed her first few years as queen since she was still dealing with the loss of her father, Churchill & George VI were amazing friends and I believe he kept his promise to look after queen Elizabeth.

Also at that point the public were angry with her! She had never had never so much anger from the public before. They felt she hadn't done enough, annoyed that sge didn't return to London immediately without giving a second thought that she was trying to give her grandsons a few days before throwing them in front of millions. She didn't want to fund the travel, ( or rather the taxpayer) it was Charles who insisted after all Diana was still the mother of his sons. The public backed her into a corner really. I think it was then the reality hit just how much Diana had been loved.

She wasn't Queen when Winston Churchill worked under her father during WWII. She did, however, had a great deal of respect for everything he did during WWII. I wish she had shown that same respect immediately after Princess Diana died. It took Tony Blair writing to the Queen explaining the importance of Princess Diana to the people and the importance of the RF making a statement about Princess Diana. She did bow to Princess Diana's casket as a sign of respect when it passed the Queen. For that gesture I had more respect for the Queen that day.

Her father, King George, was king during the war. QEII was crowned on June 1953 well after WWII was over. She only knew Winston Churchill as he dealt with her father, King George.

She should have followed the rule about children and spoiling them ending up with a first born who is an egotistical narcissist who ruined the life of a wonderful lady, Princess Diana, who was loved by the British people. The Queen should have set him down and read him the riot act when he was a child about his behavior, however, he was brought up by nannies since she was busy with rulings the country. I don't see Charles on the throne very long due to his health and the feelings of the British people.

Granted genetic abnormalities can be handed down as was hemophilia Czar Nicholas child from his wife great great grandmother queen Victoria, it's not unusual in many populations around the world especially the monarchy where it was for centuries to marry within the family of a monarch. All the monarchs if European countries including England to the north and Italy to the south are related. It was the custom then, no longer.

Queen Elizabeth II had absolute trust in Winston Churchill, respect and admiration, affection and loyalty to him. Winston was also related to princess Diana. Therefore the Queen knew her ancestors. We those who were fortunate to witness Queen Elizabeth’s reign will never see another monarch who can equal her. In my view Prince William will achieve more than King Charles III given the chance of a longer life than Charles.
