Cause love's such an old fashioned word and love dares you to care for the people on the edge of the night and love dares you to change our way of caring about ourselves, this is our last dance, this is our last dance, this is ourselves under pressure. @catreecemacleod75564 ай бұрын
Topics like this always resonate with people regardless of timeframe. When times are tough, you're under pressure to survive. When you're in a golden age, you're under pressure to perform and that you can't feel bad for yourself because of how much better you had it than others had it before you. You're never truly allowed to relax and take care of yourself, and it's difficult to take care of others if you yourself are on the edge already, and most people are throughout history. I think the most interesting line though, is "the terror of knowing what this world is about" because... well, it's built to kill you. Like straight up, it's a specialized machine with many parts that are intentionally designed to try to kill you, and it's only the fact that you are specialized to try to live long enough to try to have kids and take care of them that is holding that back. And it can be terrifying to realize that you have the entire world's worth of pressure upon you, but there's some comfort in also knowing that it's the same dealie as atmospheric pressure - we need that pressure to exist as well. We're built with the assumption we will be under pressure at all times. Putting someone in a vacuum is a terrible way to die, but it also is true in a completely and totally stress-free life, it tends to do terrible things to people mentally. When things are at their worst, people can also be at their best. It's the whole concept of "our finest moment" when everything's going to hell and all hope is lost, when you're under the most pressure imaginable, that this is the moment when you can stand up and do the things that need to be done because there's nothing left to lose. It's terrifying to be aware of these things, but that fear can also give you strength when it's needed most, and even the concept of existential dread only exists because of your ability to view things on a larger scale and to see more than your small, immediate situation you're in. It's kinda poetic when you think about it. The things which will destroy you are also the things that will make you into the best version of yourself. The things that you seek out the most, like not being under pressure, are also the things that will destroy you. You actually need that pressure, as destructive as it can potentially be, and the whole "that which doesn't kill me only makes me stronger" has some real, potential truth to it. Good song, lots of interesting stuff to think about, whether you're currently in a hard spot in your life, or getting a moment's rest to think about things on a larger scale.

Oh my God Cat I think you're a poet and you perhaps don't know it ❤. Having said that 😂, and texting is excruciating right now 😂😂I just wanted to let you know that everything you wrote here is in sync with my current situation and touched my ❤soul spirit, in my opinion. The culmination of minds who wrote the lyrics brought forth poetically simple words put in a way that gets straight to the point about human survival could actually coexist in peacefulness togetherness IF ONLY EVERYONE was given the opportunity. Unfortunately my opinion is that that's not going to happen because sadly our world for so much of the population has had their mind filled with a toxic mixture of unreal disinformation about the truth. Back when news anchors such as Walter Cronkite (sp), and others reported the "NEWS" it took much-needed research and hard work to be able to present the "FACTS" as best as possible, and if Walter spoke something that was rarely not truth, He made it quite clear to everyone as soon as the next broadcast. Also it wasn't just about little things. WALTER GAVE THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS AND WAS OF SIGNIFICANCE TO EVERYONE. And that's the way it is (date-place)good day, is what he said at the end of the broadcasting day. No one is perfect 👌 and we all make mistake. ❤ GOD ❤ PEOPLE.
@catreecemacleod75563 ай бұрын
@@CherylSpurr Oof, sorry to hear about the painful typing, especially since you wrote so much! But it is appreciated, so thank you! It is unfortunately true though, the issue with truth. Like literally last year CNN used as an argument in court that they can't be held liable for obvious, blatant slander because... they don't have any fact-checkers and they're just bad at their job. While at the same time running "the most trusted name in news" as their slogan. Definitely in different times than we used to be in a few decades ago where that would have been considered completely insane to even suggest such a thing could occur, yet here we are. Still, hope your situation gets better soon! Need to have a rest every now and then to be able to reflect on things and learn from the rough patches after all! Even if we made mistakes to wind up in rough patches in the first place, sometimes it's necessary to make those mistakes to learn from them too. And weirdly enough... it's largely our flaws that make us who we are. If we were all perfect, we'd just all be identical anyway without variation. We kind of need those deviations from perfection to define us as individuals. It also always gives us room for improvement, since our lifespans aren't long enough to remove all our flaws, so it's a lifetime of change to explore as well. Something to give purpose to living beyond just survival, procreation and pure hedonism. So having our problems maybe isn't so bad after all, though it can certainly seem it at the time.

At Live Aid, (July 1985 - I watched, gave cash, rocked) the set by Queen is now immortal! Bowie, also did an awesome set. I have pondered in years after, if there was any thought for “under pressure” to be performed thAt day??? The opportunity passed with Freddie. The Tribute Concert was grand, and David with Annie L’ and Queen, was great…yet, it’s one of those “Time Machine” ideas.

Me ubiera encantado conocerlo , me ubiera encantado...... Ame el rock desde que escuche a esta banda y ahora aseguró que se volvió mí género de favorito 💚💚💚
