The freddie version of too much love will kill you when he did the whole song in two takes because of the pain he was in downed the whole bottle of vodka to numb himself and put down his vocals died about two weeks later. The Freddie Tribute show where all the singers had to change the key of every song because they couldnt match freddies range all except Elton john for i am still standing and Brian may for Tie your mother down and his version of Too much love will kill you (which he wrote, think its meant to be about brian cheating on his wife but it is really what killed Freddie he went looking for love and ended up making poor decisions which lead to a terrible desease and painful death) But just watching and feeling the emotions in Brians voice as he tries to get through the song you can see him pause for breath and compose himself a couple of times.

That beautiful flamenco guitar section was done by their good friend, Steve Howe of the band Yes. (Which Yes itself is a worthy rabbit-hole of an epic band too)... but Howe’s guest solo on this song was the only time Queen ever used an outside guitarist on a recording.

So, this song had its roots in a jam session by guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon, and drummer Roger Taylor... Freddie was in another room and could hear the jam, and came in *insisting* this needed to be developed. Drummer Roger wrote a great deal of the lyrics with input from the others, while Freddie added the sections with the grand harmonizing. The acoustic flamenco section I mentioned in my other comment was a collaborative effort (with Steve Howe of Yes playing the melody, and Brian May strumming the rhythmic part) ... then when it transitioned to electric guitar, that was Brian revisiting the same melody rock-style. “Innuendo” was a return to and acknowledgement of Queen’s early heavy-progressive sound of 1971-1975ish... in my mind, this song is one of their greatest works, yet often overlooked in the general scheme of band history.

If you want to see one of the best live, in concert performances of all time, watch Queen's 20 minute set at the multi-band mega concert for African famine relief, the 1985 LIVE AID concert. Queen at Live Aid. Of the 40 or so bands that played in two stadiums on two continents in two cities ( Philadelphia and London)....Queen stole the show. That says a lot when you consider the caliber of musical artists who played that great day...such as, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Led Zeppelin ( minus their late drummer John Bonham who died 5 years earlier ), David Bowie, Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Roxy Music, Black Sabbath, Dire Straits, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. QUEEN had the crowd together and in the palm of their hand. Unmatched. Just look at views of individual song videos extracted from the full 20 minute set on KZbin...their song Radio Gaga from Live Aid for one example, 50 MILLION views. Insane. Unfortunately, the one Live Aid full 20 set video that had unimaginable millions of views has been blocked for copyright. But no fear, there are others now that people have put up. I'll post a link for you here. [ Unfortunately the hd version is gone from YT. Damnit.] Anyhow here you are ----> kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4KrkoR3qaeErbc

Whenever I see people looking for Queen songs to react to I always like to recommend "Let me live", which is one of their lesser known ones because it's on an album released after Freddie's death (but recorded before) and was never performed live - but it's got some amazing vocal harmonies in it. (Also The Show Must Go On, and Who Wants to Live Forever, and... and... so many great songs...)

At 5:54 "I´m gonna stop it here cause I.....I don´t know" :D :D you´re priceless girl. You really want a suggestion worth your time? React Queen´s mini-concert in Live Aid 1985, it´s like 20 minutes or so and it´s considered one the most brilliant performances ever by a band. Peace.

Hi Lovely Lady, This is one of my all time favourite Queen songs, Innuendo went straight to number 1 in 1990, as did the album, The Show Must Go On, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Headlong, and the beautiful These Are The Days Of Our Lives are all from the same album and worth a look, amazing songs!! Queen are Freddie Mercury on vocals, Brian May on guitar, John Deacon on bass guitar, and Roger Taylor on the drums, Freddie passed away on November 24th 1991 aged 45 from AIDS, Brian May and Roger Taylor are still performing today as Queen, Brian is 73, and Roger is 70, John Deacon retired in 1997, they formed in 1970!! 😀 😀 RIP Freddie!! 😀 😀 🙏

This is even superior to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in terms of breadth & creativity in my opinion. This is true sensory overload, or what you referred to as a brain glitch. There is simply so much art work in addition to vocals & instrumentals that it is indeed incredibly theatrical. Not as well known nor as popular as BR, it shows off Freddie’s voice in such an amazing way. Totally unpredictable & fabulous. Best wishes

Where have I BEEN for a month?!?!? 0_0 I just discovered your AWESOME channel, Honey, and I've been sitting here binge-watching ALL of your (Queen/Freddie... That's all I usually watch/listen to) reactions. It's so refreshing to see someone who is really listening to the lyrics/immersing themself in the performance. BTW, DID YOU KNOW that November 24 was the 29th anniversary of the day that Freddie Mercury passed on to Heaven? At first, when I saw what you're wearing, I thought maybe you did (because YELLOW is Freddie's FAVORITE color)... but I'm guessing maybe not, since you didn't mention it. Oh, and P.S. I'm SURE you already have a lot of folks who are telling you to react to the entire set of Queen's Live Aid performance... 20 minutes sounds long, but it's so fast-paced/intense that it goes by really FAST. IMPORTANT NOTE re. Live Aid: Most reactors miss the fact that there is an add'l Queen song performed after the continuous 20-minute set, later in the evening, titled "Is This The World We Created". Just FYI.

The thing with queen is it was a real band with four extremely talented song writers and that is timeless there are very very few poor songs in their discography. But its not uncommon for queen to messages in songs take hammer to fall that was about the cold war "just surrender and it wont hurt at all" better that than to die in nuclear fire basically then the miricle pointing out that really despite all we have created built etc nothing compares to mother nature in terms of beauty and power. The innuendo and one vision pointing out people have more in common than you think regardless of class skin colour or religion. On the other hand they also have songs where you can just listen and relax sign of great band.

I have never heard this before. I loved the main part of it. The middle flamenco part was well done and interesting, but honestly, I thought it took away the power of the message of the song. I would have preferred that heavy vibe and great chord progression through the entire song. The flamenco would have been nice in perhaps a different song....one that didn’t carry such a deep message.
