god fuckin damn this is legitimately one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time. it was so ahead of its time for 1989!! not only does it feature some of the GOATS of early east coast progressive rap (worth mentioning that Queen Latifah's style went like bread and butter with De La Soul's) but the beat is a jam, huge props to prince paul for being such a groundbreaking DJ and RIP to the man plug two, legend absolutely ripped this track. also a big fan of the promo art they did for this track, wish i knew who the artist was. love how they draw Pos.

John D There was a package of mixes put together by CJ Mackintosh and John Waddell called "The New School Mixes" which spawned a version that was played on the radio here in the UK and also made it's way onto at least one compilation at the time. This was "The Secondary Mix" if I recall correctly, and it featured on Deep Heat 90. Maybe this is where you remember it from?
