Queen had so many different genres of music that they did, that they really can't be categorized. I love early Queen, loved the later stuff but 70's Queen holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for all your reactions!

Today my radio station asked us if we had a time machine what would be the first place we'd go. I answered to see Queen live at the Rainbow. I really wished that Freddie and John would have shared the microphone more often. What I love best about Queen is they gave each other a time to shine. I loved Deaky's bass solo.

I saw Queen in my local concert hall in the North West of England in 73,74 and 75. This was the favourite track of the audience there. In 1975, the audience were calling for this track all the way through the show. The calls got so loud at one point, Freddie couldn't make himself heard when he was trying to talk. Then John (yes, really!) stepped up to the mic and just said "Quiet for Freddie , please" . After that , you could hear a pin drop for the next song, people were so stunned!

That’s awesome! I love hearing these little tidbits of stuff that happened at their shows that only those at the concert experienced. Thank you so much for sharing your memory with us. Also, I am super jealous you got to be that close to Freddie ♥️

This was when John Deacon joined for good. They went thru alot of bass players before they chose John. Good choice😂 .

Actually John joined in 1971. This was 1974, three years later. He was still writing his engineering degree exams when he joined. An EXCELLENT choice as a bass man and composer.

Great reaction..you said that they were young..Freddie 28....Brian 27...Roger 25 and John was 23...amazingly talented even at that age...they were born to be together as Queen🤩

There’s no denying that greatness awaited Queen at this point in their early career. Amazing! I love the way Freddie looks here!! It was said that John took some coaxing from Freddie to sing the bridge with him!! 🗣 🎶 I’m so glad cuz we get to see Deaky up close and personal … and that bass playing!! Great song written by Freddie (probably from experiences at boarding school IMO). 👑

Thank you for your in-depth reaction. This performance gives each band member a chance to stand out, especially Deacy who is usually in the background playing his amazing bass, and I love it for that. Queen did not just sing songs, their music takes us on an epic journey!

Awesome reaction! You should check out Father To Son live at the Rainbow 1974 as well, it is a great performance. Liar is actually a far deeper song then people think, it is one of Queen's most depressing songs, written by Freddie before he joined Queen. It is someone who is looking for a place to belong, he ties the church and confesses his sins, but he is still rejected. Next he really tries to find a place within his family but he is rejected again. In the end he realizes "You have to be dead, before they let you in". If Freddie ever did write a song about his sexuality this was likely it.

Yes, and that the church in particular are sinners while passing judgement.
@josephinemonahan9159 ай бұрын
Just so you know......when you mention church and confessing sins....this does not relate to Freddie...he was Zoroastrian.....nothing to do with the type of church you’re talking about😂🤩

I can’t imagine how loud they must have been. The rainbow was a 3500 seat club. There are a number of great performances of this one. They all shine. Gotta love the Deaky/Mercury duo. Brian is so serious here! Great reaction.

Insightful commentary on your part. Queen made every performance a show stopper. I remember watching Live Aid all damn day in real time…Madonna, Elton John, and other icons all bowed down to Queen’s performance. It changed my life and I am forever a Queen fan.

Seventies Queen is a very different beast from eighties Queen. I love all Queen, but they were their absolute best then. Only with Innuendo did they get quite as brilliant again. (Also, they were at their prettiest and sexiest, lol)

I've always felt that 90's Queen were more like 70's Queen and I liked what they were doing then. 80's Queen were more commercial and 90's Queen were around for only a very short time.

new subscriber here. Adore your reactions. Queen is amazing, aren't they? I have a recommendation for an early Queen. "WHITE QUEEN - A Night At The Odeon, Live at Hammersmith 1975" version. Well worth a look. I didn't see it in your videos yet. Have fun.

You should do the music from the Barcelona album. Where he sings with Montserrat Caballe'. Besides being two insanely beautiful voices, the songs cover so many music traditions all in one, it's almost mystical.
