Julian getting his emotions taken away (kind of) reminded me of Elena turning her emotions off in Vampire Diaries like it these two characters got to the point of desperation and the straw that broke the camels back were the deaths of their siblings (though with Elena it was Damon who said she should do it... I really want to know what Stefan was thinking when he asked Damon to help her like Damon's track record in helping people is not very good but I'm off track)

I think I know what happend between the Eidolon demon and Julian, and why he couldn’t kill it with the seraph blade. I think it was protected by Ash’s blood. Because when Emma finds Ash in fearie she can see a scar on his shoulder, then when the Queen comes to the throne room she says to the king ”You wear his blood around your throat! Deny it, if you can!” and Emma can see a vial around his neck. And later, after the fight in the throne room and the king is dead Manuel finds the vial and takes it. And when the Eidolon demon is disguised as Annabel we get this: ”Annabel wore a blue dress, incongruous on the battlefield. A vial of red fluid glimmered at her throat.” I found this really interesting! Loved your review!

This ended up being my least favorite in The Dark Artifices series. I think I was just expecting it to feel more like a conclusion to a series, rather than a set up for The Wicked Powers. I did still really enjoy it, but it didn't quite live up to how much I loved Lady Midnight & Lord of Shadows. I loved hearing all of your thoughts on the book and chatting during the premiere!

The main conflict wasn't resolved, just locked away in Idris. And because Kit had so much POV throughout the whole series, it felt like his story shoud've been concluded as well but it couldn't because there's still TWP where he's a main character. For an ending of an entire series it was unsatisfying. Now if TWP had been supposed to be the second half of the series (like TMI had two halves), it would have been a perfect finale for that.

black rose, yeah I think if it was marketed as being a midpoint to a series then I would've had different expectations and ended up enjoying it more. Or even if The Wicked Powers was starting next year or something so that we wouldn't have to wait SO long to continue with the plot. I really disliked Kieran in Lady Midnight and it was only in Lord of Shadows that I slowly let him grow on me, but in Queen of Air and Darkness I really started to love him. Kieran had so much character growth throughout this series and I adored his redemption arc (it's one of my favourite tropes)

Julian is just SUCH a complex character and has so many different sides to him that I don't think we'll ever fully understand him. But WHY is nobody talking about when Jace from Thule comes and says "give me clary" to the Seelie Queen like??? I can just tell that there's something big. coming for Jace and Clary and I feel like one of them is going to die in TWP (which we have to wait THREE YEARS for) and I will be absolutely heartbroken. But in other news, Chain of Gold came out (which was AMAZING btw) and Chain of Iron's cover is being released in a week!!

I also fully CANNOT believe how far the Shadowhunter world has developed since TMI. Like if you think about it in a chronological way, the series has gone from being threatened by Mortmain and his clockwork army, to whatever tf is meant to happen in The Last Hours, to then being put in absolute and total chaos because of Valentine and his obsession with killing downworlders and using demons to do so, to THEN being THIS CLOSE to an actual apocalypse all because of Sebastian’s obsession with power (all in the space of like 3 months based on the TMI timeline), and then this MASSIVE thing with Annabel and Malcolm AT THE SAME TIME AS ALL THE POLITICAL SHIT BETWEEN DOWNWORLDERS AND SHADOWHUNTERS, which then LITERALLY tips the scales into absolute insanity when Horace and the Cohort seal off Idris from the ENTIRETY of the remaining Shadowhunters who chose to go against Horace. Like when you think of it that way.... it’s wild to think how far Cassie’s taken the shadow world since releasing City of Bones over a decade ago 💀💀💀

I think the eidolom demon wasn't affected by the adamas blade because it was wearing the vial with Ash's blood around it's neck. Manuel found it with the corpse of the unseelie king. I hope this will be more developed in the following series.

It has to, we seriously need to learn everything Ash and his blood is capable of doing 100% Because we never learnt all of Sebastian's abilities so Cassie at least should give us Ash... (Yeah that eidolon didnt die because of Ash's blood, thats a fact for me)

My Approach find more books read another series and get invested in it and then by the time you're done reading it what time will have passed and you'll have your mind off of it then find another Siri Street and then another one and then another one until the next book comes out and you can get it and read it Christmas might not work because sometimes you'll just get in the middle of more than one series that are ongoing which I have to admit is awesome but sucks but still it works

When I'm obsessed with something, I go crazy so I had my paperback book, the audio book, and ebook so I could use any median necessary to finish reading! When I was working, I had my ear bud in listening! When I was at home alone, I read the paperback and if I was on the bus or a car, I would read the ebook on my phone! Anyways, I'm late reading this trilogy since I fell off after CoHF. I still need to read Bane Chronicles, Ghosts of the Shadow Market, Tales from Shadowhunter Academy, the Elder Curses, and the Last Hours series! I know I'm behind but I didn't like waiting for those short stories. I will read them shortly since I just finished QoAaD yesterday! Like you said, I always felt like I was intruding on everyone's intimate moments while reading! When Julian and Emma recited the parabatai vows, I lost my mind 🥰 I'm so happy that I picked up this series again! Cassandra Clare is such a talented writer! I always loved how she plans out her series in such an amazing way that always leaves us wanting more and more!! I need to catch up on the rest of the short stories to get a better idea of what's to come! I absolutely enjoyed hearing your review and how you were just as excited as I was when I finished the book! 🤩

Omg same, honestly even while reading the first chapters of QOAAD I was just thinking; - Mark and Christina have such good chemistry and Kieran is like Mark’s ex and he’s just on their way... but oh my as soon as I saw how Kieran talked to Christina and their chemistry and how he was suchh a gentleman to her and it just made sense for the 3 of them to be together... like as soon as Kieran asked them both to stay in the bed with him and he called Christina the most beautiful girl he had ever seen... I was like wow THIS IS IT. It just makes sense. And Mark and Christina ahhh its just so gentle and pure and young romance... idk its something fresh and I loved it

Ahlyana Seaman yea I know what you mean, but the thing is back then it was either Jem marrying Tessa or Will marrying Tessa. It was the old times. And Will and Jem didnt love each other romantically like Kieran and Mark. Plus theyre parabatai, they couldnt. Also Jem was sick so it was kinda the way he go healed. Also Im happy Jem is there for Tessa now. So she could have a lifetime with both Will and Jem.

6 all good points I have to admit that when I was reading the series will and Jim struck me as a most powerful the most meaningful love of the series and they're the ones you want romantic so yeah and also like I said I wonder what the parabatai curse would do if there's a member of a 3 love triangle who isn't a parabatai but anyway yeah I can't see them as romantic they're just not meant to be romantic the love is way more meaningful than Romance they almost made me cry

37:25 What if the demon was Tessa’s dad and the reason he couldn’t be hurt by the seraph blade is because he had sex with a shadowhunter and that for some reason could make him immune to the blade?? Idk I have other theories too like that the demon lived because he possibly had Ash’s blood in a small vial around his neck which could somehow protected him because I think it was stated that Ash’s blood can give you powers (this theory seems more likely to me)

The Seelie Queen said that there’s a darkness in the heart of the bond of Parabatai. That explains why their bond was burned off by the heavenly fire. (as we so painfully found out in City of Heavenly Fire). So they could either die or that.

But Alec and Jace didn't lose their parabatai bond when j's got full of Heavenly Fire and also there's quite a bit of darkness in the heart of Julian Blackthorn at he still alive so I don't think that Siri fits
