Well that was definitely a reaction. This video generates mixed feelings, there is the joy in watching two divas giving a great performance, the amusement of watching Freddie trying to stay in one place, and barely managing, but there is also the sadness knowing he never got to see his music used to open the Olympic games.

Freddie admired her immensely. Montserrat became a very dear friend. She attended the unveiling of his statue in Switzerland and comforted his parents. Before he died he asked her not to hug him because he had AIDS. She did anyway.

I couldn't decide if you liked the song or not. This was the first crossover song in the history sang by a rockstar and by one of the most famous opera divas in the world. Freddie and Mike Moran have composed it for Montserrat who wanted to have a song about her hometown in Spain. This song became to the opening song of the Olympic Games in Barcelona 92 a few months after Freddie's death.

The most famous in that moment and the best pop singer was Freddie Mercury but the most important opera singer of the XX century was Montserrat Caballé. Frrddie was a fan of her. They was the best in a tribute song to the best city in the world. My respect for both.

DON’T CRY 🥺 ……. TOO LATE! 😭😭 Freddie wrote a whole album for Montserrat Caballe’ & himself called BARCELONA! She’s from Barcelona, Spain & Freddie wrote this for Montsy (Freddie called her that) She sang it at the Barcelona Olympic Games 1992 with Freddie’s image.😭 Sadly, Freddie passed away in 1991.
