very effective teacher! I’m learning a lot and the camera angle really helps with conceptualizing positions

What a beautiful explanation ... logical and sequential. 1st step Strategy, defending c4 or undermining d4 ... then going one by one to explain the possible tactics by black. Love the work that you and Alex have done in these courses. Please keep up the great work !!!

This is a very helpful video, thank you! I subscribe to some of the "bigger" chess channels and though they are helpful to a certain extent, this is a lot of hands on instruction that will be invaluable because I feel like when I get lost in an opening that sets the tone of the game.

At 14:02, what if black plays Nxf3? Is white just OK with doubled pawns in this position? Seems like castling is a bit impractical after that line.

10:37 what if black blocks with f pawn instead of the bishop?
@krishnamoorthy8434 жыл бұрын
21:20 Qf3 is possible move it attack Bishop on Bf5 and also it attack b7 pawn
@Chessfactor4 жыл бұрын
just e6, and if Qb7, then Qd4 (rook is protected by the knight).
@connormonday Жыл бұрын
Is there a big picture problem with c5 and Nc6? It seems like the …a6 and …b5 stuff just weakens Black on a the queen side. Maybe just develop the bishop to d7 (and maybe e8 later?)
@Kristobliss Жыл бұрын
I can tell you that black almost never allows you to to early castle with queen's gambit it's almost always Bishop to B4 on the 3rd or 4th move every time. I am not sure why that wasn't ever demonstrated here.
@kiroshakir7935 Жыл бұрын
B5 is actually a move in the central variation and it doesn't score that bad

@Chessfactor at 14:07 what if NxNf3+ white must take with the pawn and the pawns are doubled won't this become an advantage for black
@Chessfactor4 жыл бұрын
No, White takes on f3 (tempo move), then on c4 having powerful pawn center and advantage in space.

At 14:00, he says while should play Bf4, and he says that black will play Ng6. But what if instead, knight takes knight with Nf3. You have to recapture with g pawn because you can't recapture with queen. I have this happen to me in bullet all the time. This messes up white's pawn structure and its super annoying to play after. Anyone have recommendations?
@phamlevinh8212 жыл бұрын
well actually that doubled pawn is fine and even somewhat of an advantage. The f3 pawn supports the massive e4 d5 chain and white simply has a big space advantage. With c4 pawn falling soon white will try to cramp black's position
@fadyelkady31594 жыл бұрын
Hello, I have a question, is the 3 nf6{alekhine } variation shown,-the reason for nf3 being the main line instead of e4?
