I played a standard chess game as white with time controls set at 15 minutes with a 2 second increment against Computer4 Impossible. The opening played was the Queen's Indian Defense. Although the game begins modest enough, play sharpens when the kings reside on opposite sides. We can usually expect a full fledged attack on the king in such cases. Calculation and timing are two important factors in the said environment. After the game, I review it briefly with the assistance of Stockfish 7 (64-bit).

Are you planning on discussing any more matches from the Candidates Tournament? That Karjakin - Caruana match was good. Or maybe you could talk about that one where Anish Giri got a draw.

Hi Jerry, I have watched your excellent videos more or less since you started. I really enjoy your efforts against the computer. There is a satisfaction in beating one which is hard to explain. The problem with today's programs is the speed with which they play. But even with such speed you had it completely beat. Karpov one of my favorite players was a positional player. But he had the killer blow to convert the tactics which resulted from the superior position. You was still thinking positional in a tactically winning position. Even so well done and thank you for the excellent quality videos. Steven

Jerry, this is a Stonewall attack formation. I always use Stonewall :) The point of Stonewall is to sacrifice bishop (or in this game, rook) for an easy forced mate.
@VeracityTrigger
@VeracityTrigger 8 жыл бұрын
What if, in the beginning, you contested its white bishop, lose it , take with your queen and they might move a knight to capture but you can fall back with the queen? If they contest the queen with the rook it would change its trajectory on the preferred file but I guess it's more likely they would move a knight. Not sure but does working a little to the left at the start save the right side?

great work Jerry! Maybe you should play with a greater increment , it will only benifit you, since the computer is so fast to move...

I think I would have played 22. Rg1 simply because your knight then has the flexibility to move to e5 whereas with the rook on g2, this move was never possible.

Nope I actually wanted to play tge rook all the way back to G1.. it just felt.. like what the Pros do.. play calm, secure, it's not gonna help if there are tempi against the rook later, might ruin my attack, buying time for my opponent. and the rook doesn't protect anything really on the second rank for now.. I'm kinda proud :D
