Seaside Rendezvous definitely puts a smile on my face, very light and bouncy. Lazing on a Sunday afternoon and good company (sung by Brian playing a ukulele) have that same cheery, bouncy, music hall-vaudeville vibe and same happy effect. Also, in case your wondering, in the line "I'll be your Valentino" Freddie is referring to Rudolf Valentino, the latin lover of the silent screen.

🌟"Seaside Rendezvous" is another masterpiece of Freddie's short gems been inspired by under his vaudevillian/musichall influence. 💎💎Its music takes you back in an '30s old black n white movie... The song even short, it's complicated due to the fact that all the "instruments" were played by Freddie and Taylor (Brian hadn't had the slightest participation in it) so I'll use a little help to explain...🤷‍♀️ 🌟 The song is best remembered for its “jazz band” bridge section performed vocally by Freddie and Taylor in the middle part of the song. (again a beautiful unnoticed little baby... 😢) The song’s “musical” bridge section was performed entirely by Freddie and Taylor using their voices alone... Freddie imitates woodwind instruments including a clarinet. Taylor voices mainly brass instruments such as tubas and trumpets, and even a kazoo. The tap dance segment is also “performed” by Freddie and Taylor on the mixing desk with thimbles on their fingers.(Mind you that Freddie was a Master on the mixing desk!! 😍😍😍) Freddie plays both grand piano and jangle honky-tonk. 🌟Only a sophisticated person like Freddie could use such words like "Clementine" "Jollification"... Yay! Isn't it fun and cheerful? And yes the mid song instrumentalisation is Roger and Freddie pretending to be various instruments (Freddie as woodwind and Roger as brass). I love how without knowing it you just don't realise it's not actual instruments playing. Tap dancing is Roger playing thimbles on a washboard. And yes, there's no guitar here and I've always imagined Brian coming into the studio one day, seeing these 2 recording weird sounds and then just noping out of there 😂

I've heard that this is the only song on the album that did NOT include Brian May - Freddie and Roger did "vocal orchestrations" of some of the musical instruments... kinda cool, but on MOST of the album, Brian played about 10 different things... and to me, he is the star of the group - :)

Nice, reaction! This is Freddie doing vaudeville. He was really good at doing these different styles of music. Notice all of the different tones and colours he used in his voice during this song. The Beatles also did some music hall. It is a very British thing.
