Queen - Show Must Go On | Indigo Choir (HQ Live)

"The Show Must Go On" is a song by the English rock band Queen, featured as the twelfth and final track on their 1991 album Innuendo. It is credited to Queen, but written primarily by Brian May. The song chronicles the effort of Freddie Mercury continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life; he was dying from complications due to AIDS, although his illness had not yet been made public in spite of ongoing media speculation claiming that he was seriously ill. Mercury was so ill, and could barely walk, when the band recorded the song in 1990, that May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it. Recalling Mercury's performance, May states; "he went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal".

It was released as a single in the United Kingdom on 14 October 1991 in promotion for the Greatest Hits II album, just six weeks before Mercury died. Following Mercury's death on 24 November 1991, the song re-entered the British charts and spent as many weeks in the top 75 (five) as it did upon its original release, initially reaching a peak of 16. A live version with Elton John on vocals appeared on Queen's Greatest Hits III album.
The song was first played live on April 20, 1992, during The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, performed by the three remaining members of Queen, with Elton John singing lead vocals and Tony Iommi playing rhythm guitar. It has since been played live by Queen + Paul Rodgers with Rodgers citing one of the performances as the best of his career. Since its release, the song has appeared on television, film, and has been covered by a number of artists.

Chamber pop chorus of "Indigo" from Lithuania was created specifically for the TV project "Choir Wars" (Chorų karai) in early 2013. The initiator of the choir is Vytautas Matuzas - which is popular Lithuanian rapper, winner of various competitions and festivals. He is the so-called General of the "Indigo" choir, manager and one of the soloists. The main part of the musical work (arrangements, producing and choirmaster work) is done by the participants in the famous Lithuanian male a cappella ensemble "Quorum" - Vitalij Neugasimov, Marius Turlajus, Gintautas Skliutas, Romanas Savickas, and sound engineer, arranger and studio producer Marius Matulevičius. Choreographer of the choir - a talented dancer Paulius Šinkūnas, work stand, designer of haircuts and beautician Justina Gružauskaitė, Evelina Vlasovaitė, Sandra Jurgelionytė and Sandra Didžiokaitė.

In the team were gathered young and promising singers with a varied taste in music. From the first performance given the jury of the project and many of the audience recognized the "Indigo" as favorite show. However, many experts have recognized that the quality and variety of arrangements, in choral sound and vocal data soloists, choir of "Indigo" should rightly be called the true winner of the project. We successfully performed in various cities of Lithuania, the choir are invited to participate in television programs. The team is preparing to release a CD recording new songs for the radio, in parallel preparing a new program for the recital.

The guy playing the keyboard - has anyone heard his voice? It's unbelievable. Watch and listen to their "Now We Are Free." At 4:15, he comes out and sings the last part and it is phenomenal. Guaranteed to put goosebumps on your body. What a voice, what a tone. Wow! Could listen to him sing all night and day! Awesome!

Great rendition of this powerful song but they should have left the guy near the end with the painted face off of it. It added a comedic element that was totally out of style for the song.
