Who was Queen Visenya Targaryen, the elder sister, Aegon The Conqueror. One of the three heads of the dragon who's name in remembered along side her brother and sister's till this day.

Do you know if Visenya's sword was given to her as a gift or she ordered its creation?

Much of Dark Sisters history is a mystery, we know it was owned by House Targaryen before the conquest, so likely was gifted to Visenya in a simular way Blackfrye was to Aegon. What we do know is it was likely forged for a female warrior originally as its slender blade design is better suited for a woman.

I couldn’t disagree more. She only was denied romance. Everything that’s important to a noblewoman (prestige, power, & wealth), Visenya gained to heart’s desire from marrying Aegon. He didn’t dare marry Rhaenys 1st; he married her. She was raised to Queen, rather than lordship, by aiding his brilliant conquest. She became founder & ruler of huge castle, a new city, & 1 of the largest kingdoms this world ever saw. I don’t think she gets any of that without marrying Aegon.

It's tricky. I think she did love him because he's her brother, but i think it's clear that love was not the same as Rhaenys and Aegon had. Fire and Blood states it perfectly. Aegon married Visenya for duty and Rhaenys for love and i get the feeling Visenya was well aware of that and understood that. Much of there falling out really comes after Maegor is born, i think she could tell from very early on that Aenys was going to be a weak king and saw Maegor as the right person to rule. hence why she spent her time with Maegor and Aegon kept way on Dragonstone. We're never given a specific reason why they grew apart but my take is that she activly got political by trying to push Maegor as a better heir for Aegon. You also have the idea that she was into black magic and used it to help her conceive Maegor which maybe a factor but thats just a theory at this stage

@@WorldOfWesteros Wasn't the "she used black magic to concieve him" just a rumor but even if that's true wouldn't that make Aenys is a bastard rumor true, so it doesn't really make sense on why Aegon would hate her for giving him a legitimate heir. Oh it's as well kind of disappointing to know Aegon didn't have any love towards her like he had with Rhaenys, they would made a hot ass couple both literally and figuratively

Yeah a lot of the black magic stuff is circumstantial, the reason I think people believe the idea Maegor was conceived with black magic comes down to the events after his trial of seven being very suspect. It runs parallel with the theory Visenya and Tyanna used magic to save his life, and that is partly why his personality changed so much after that event. I don’t think we will ever know unless we see it on tv if Aegon loved Visenya, fire and blood come at it from a history book style so the only hard evidence relates to rhaneys but it’s highly possible there was some romantic love between visneya and Aegon. A lot of her motivation comes down to weather you believe the theory Aenys is not Aegons, and Aegon can’t have kids. That where the idea of her using magic to conceive Maegor come into play. So in that Scenario she might have reason to suspect Aenys. I don’t personally believe that theory 100%. It could just be as simple as she wanted her own son on the throne. At this point there was no hard rule when it come to succession, first male heir was traditional but not necessarily law. Wasn’t until Jaehaerys it all for formalised. But then the dance happens and it all gets messy again

I love both but I have more of a feeling of loyalty to Visenya. I even named my dog after her 😂 Rhaenys is the Targaryen matriarch but without Visenya and Maegor, their rule may not have lasted as long.
