The story is a bit altered in the movie, but nonetheless it's a mesmerising movie. Freddie did not know that he has AIDS until 1987, so 2 years after the live aid. Also, they went in concerts for almost a year before live aid (so they weren't "rusty"). The way that they presented the facts in the movie had a much bigger impact on the crowd. Really nice movie! 99% of comments here are going to focus on Freddie's undeniable talent. Yet let not forget the rest of the band. It's May's composition. The glorious unique tone of May's hand-built Red Special guitar adds an extra dimension to this track. Deacon and Taylor prove their flexibility in holding the tempo to whatever the other two threw at them to play and I imagine they had their input too to complete a track as polished as this. Its all a Kind of Queen Magic !!

Queen was always one of the most collaborative bands in Rock and Roll. Every single member of the band wrote hit songs. May and Taylor sang some of the songs. Freddie played piano and guitar on songs, etc. It definitely wasn't a one man show.

Yes every Queen fan knows this and we all love to brag about Freddie's talent and we know that the song is written by Bri and we know that Roger and Deacy were a GIANT part if Queen Deacy claimed he couldn't sing but when I heard him sing it sounds good Roger and Brian sometimes sang songs and Freddie has that wonderful amazing voice and amazing piano skills and he played guitar a little. The songs I say were most successful by each member: Fred- Bohemian Rhapsody Bri- We Will Rock You Rog- Radio GaGa Deacy- Another One Bites The Dust

It would be fascinating to see how we evolve if I could indeed live forever, but nothing is infinite, not even the universe. Everything has an end. Living forever would give you time to fulfill any desire and dream, learn so much but if you were the only one to do this, that would be a very lonely existence. Seeing your friends and family turn to dust over time, see the horrors or peace out future selves unleash on the world. Witness the end of the Earth..... When as a child you ask that question, it sounds wonderful. But as an adult, it sounds like the worst torment any devil could inflict.... I'm happy that I know at some point I will return to what I am made of, Stars. Every element in my body is forged from them. To know I am made of such stuff and be so tiny as to not even matter to the universe as a whole makes me very happy. Queen are the best, even heard a couple of early teens singing the opening bars of Rhapsody earlier, I joined in just for giggles. Good times

Exactly. Before watching the video, I always listened and just thought Freddie was deliberately singing with a bit softer tone. And then I found out it was actually Brian. And watching/listening No One But You, I can't help but think - why they just didn't kept the band in such formation? They don't need Adam Lambert or anyone else in front. Brian, Rodger and John could've continued the Queen legacy and it would've been great.

@JessicaHayes022 ай бұрын
@@AJ1987LVWell first and foremost they needed time to mourn the loss of their frontman and friend. Two: as with the first answer, they needed time to find the right frontman who could come close to Freddy's calibre musically and as a showman. Which is almost impossible to find. And third as good as the original lineup of queen are vocally, they weren't on the same level as Freddy. Hell no one is, which is why it took them so long to choose Adam Lambert in the end. And Finally, you can't just replace a frontman like that period. I say this because Freddy has a unique voice and inflection which is hard to emulate in Karaoke! Let alone considering making a comeback without a standout Frontman!!!

I have had many surgeries in the last ten years. I'm a huge Queen fan, having seen Freddie and the guys live in Australia in 1976 when they were arguably at their early best. I was literally twenty feet away from the stage in a small Hall (only 5000 seats!) and it was a concert I'll never forget, he was amazing, magic in a bottle stuff. Anyway come forward thirty year and One of the surgeries I had to have was a really major spinal surgery performed through the front of the stomach..BIG 9.5hr operation. When I got into the theatre there were two teams of doctors and about about a dozen other specialists and nurses all about to operate various machines and one that would take blood out of me, refine it and put it back. They had music playing in the theatre and it was very cool to see them all upbeat and talking to me, calming me down, I said 'it's great you have music on, have you got any Queen?' ' Yes! ', they all said excitedly, what do your u want to listen to as you are put to sleep.? I said, "play Who wants to Live Forever , I think I'd like to hear Freddie's voice as I go under and if it's the last thing I ever hear then I'm OK with that!" they all broke out in applause, and when I woke up in recovery they had Queen playing 'dont stop me now'. Obviously everything went well as I'm still here ten years later! :-P. I listen to a Queen song most days, if not everyday. Freddie was so unique.

I think the same, his voice has a softness of its own, i also listened to the song too much lobe can kill you sang by both Freddie and Brian and i enjoyed more Brian's version of the song rather than Freddie's
@wimdenherder Жыл бұрын
You're right, that moment 1:02 when Freddie's voice enters the music is devine, it gains extra colour by contrast with Brian's voice. Also, if you want to listen to the version where Freddie Mercury also sings the first verse, you should check out a specific film's version where he does! You can find it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipbEnaGfmKmdgas it's hauntingly beautiful ❤

They worked together doing different types of songs, perform when hurting, they give it their all and more. Queen is the bestest of the best, they weren't just rock, ballots, opera, but they were all of the above. Their live performances and video's were amazing. Can everyone just take a moment & appreciate the beauty of Sir Brian May' voice & writing skills. This is a complete masterpiece on his part. He wrote it, sang a beautiful part of it, played the guitar magnificently & guided the orchestra as well. This is no less than May's Bohemian Rhapsody. I always did adore him for his calmness , education ,intelligence & of course his great looks but after listening to this the respect that I have for him has reached another level. I'm sorry but there's simply no topping Queen. I love how powerful Freddie's vocals are. He really put his all into music and it shows. Or It sounds I guess? There's just something so brilliant about his vocals, Brian's perfect Guitar playing, Roger's amazing drumming and John's brilliant bass playing. Timeless. Seamless. Utter perfection.

as a classically trained and performing musician. no other band had/has the talent that queen did. They did a little bit of every thing that no other band could do. They are IMO one of the greatest rock bands in all history.

Just like they say, there will never be a band again like the Beatles. There will never be a band again like Queen.!

Yeah I keep telling people that Queen and a few other artists/bands who owned the scene back in the late 70s and early 80s will be remembered far longer than all of the top 100 artists/bands we have currently. Jackson, Pink Floyd, Queen etc will all still be remembered and cherished and played frequently, as opposed to Rihanna, Eminem, Swift, Spears, Bieber, Kanye, Backstreet Boys, etc.

@@kimkimpa5150 So true, if a song as we are the champions are still known and sang by everyone 44 years after release, it won’t be any different in 44 years from now.
