@CB-xr1eg
@CB-xr1eg 7 жыл бұрын
It isn't in Queen's top 5 because it's repetitive and unimaginative. It was only cobbled together because they were short of material for Made In Heaven. It sounds to me like it could be an out take from Freddie's solo album Mr Bad Guy. The worst track on MIH in my opinion.

I am a lifelong Queen fan, subscribed to their Fan magazine and everything. I was waiting for this last album for years. The day it was it was released, I bought five cds(to give to friends), and drove to the mountains late at night, and walked in the dark for a mile by myself. Then I pressed play and listened to the whole cd. I cried twice. Once, when I heard the piano from "Seven Seas of Rhye" on the reprise of, "It's a Beautiful Day", and the other was when I first heard the guitar solo from "You Don't Fool Me".

the guitar solo is amazing, it still makes my head explode even after all these years, every time I listen to the song I can't just listen to it once, I MUST listen to the song a lot of times over and over and over again. the guitar solo makes me feel like I'm standing on the edge of a mountain or canyon in a rocky desert, but suddenly I'm "pulled" by some force and blasted through the universe at light speed, I can't explain it, that guitar solo makes me "feel the universe as if I was travelling at light speed"

There's another song with a similar vibe that's Freddie improvising around a beat and a simple riff, just like this one. Probably the same time period. It's called Holding On (not Hold On, which is a different rarity). Check it out if you like this direction, though it's much less polished. I really love just about everything John Deacon ever took part in writing, and the same goes for Freddie's style, but having Brian in this really put it over the top, where as Holding On wasn't far enough along for that, I guess.

Considering this song was pieced together is impressive. Sounds like it was made to sound like this to begin with. From the bassline to the guitar and it's solo to the keyboard and percussion it's awesome. Sad that this song is very underrated. And anything from innuendo to made in heaven album is underrated. But this is an amazing song wish it got more love.

Viva Queen y Viva Freddie Mercury!
