One of the (many) things that made Queen so fantastic was that Roger and Brian were easily good enough singers to have fronted other groups. Obviously Freddie's voice was one of the greatest ever, but name another band with so much vocal talent at its disposal!
@edbadyt6 жыл бұрын
Lets not forget that even John wrote some of the biggest hits. Okay, the guy couldn't sing and was the opposite of a front man but the great thing about Queen is every member wrote huge hits. The only other band I can think of where that happened was Madness and as good as they were, they were no Queen.

@Japhy Ryder The Beatles - yes, well deserved on the list, alhough a superhit of Ringo that is equal to Another One Bites tohe Dust or You are My best Friend of Deacons? But ok. Rest of the mentioned bands - they are great, cool or nice - no offense, but... for example: ABBA - only the guys wrote the songs The Who - yes, I think they all composed, but again, a big hit of someone else except Townsend? The Beach Boys - really? :) can you name few hits of someone else than Brian Wilson? etc etc

It's good, just in a different way. Roger was not Queen's lead vocalist, but he surely had a better range and better singing ability in general than many other singers.
@MrSoulauctioneer10 жыл бұрын
more range than Freddie. He could sing piercing high notes that Freddie couldnt touch.
@videosandvideosandvideos10 жыл бұрын
Dave Suchy That's incorrect! Freddie has recorded vocals up to an F5 (check Innuendo album), and even sang notes above C6. Can you please tell me in which record or live performance Roger has sung a note that Freddie never hit or "couldn't touch"?
@MrSoulauctioneer10 жыл бұрын
I should amend my statement...Freddie had more range(lower register) lets see, the screams in ''in the lap of the gods'' the famous piercing highs in ''bohemian rhapsody''. Freddie is a baritone with a high range, Roger is a tenor with an even higher range.
@videosandvideosandvideos10 жыл бұрын
Dave Suchy The highest note in Bohemian Rhapsody, which was sung by Roger, is a Bb5. The highest note in In The Lap Of The Gods is an A5. You should go on a keyboard, play the songs, and then hit those notes. You'll see. Mercury has sung Bb5's many times, one great example being Live At Wembley 86 second night the "Impromptu" performance. Mercury has even hit notes above the 6th octave live. An example would be the D6 he sang in another "Impromptu" performance live in Japan 1985 (not the final concert of 85 that has video, there is only sound recording of that particular concert I'm talking about). Once again, there is no recording, in other words "evidence", that Roger had a higher register. If there is, I'd love to hear it! People have this whole conversation of "a natural Baritone" etc., but none of it is relevant. Baritone, Tenor, whatever, the notes are there. You can be a Tenor and have ruined your voice and only be able to sing in Baritone range. You could be a Baritone and sing as high as a Tenor. Well, in that case, who cares? And Dave, I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but I don't like untrue facts to be spread.
@theofficialcman8 жыл бұрын
Dracule Mihawk no man get you're shit right. That high note in Boh rap is a Bb6. Play it on the piano bro and he can hear it. Either way Fred still had a bigger range because he could hit the lower notes whereas roger couldn't

Actually Freddie said he couldn't play guitar that well, he said he wanted to learn guitar, but he know only few chords, and that actually helped him create Crazy Little Thing Called Love. John on the other hand know bass, guitar and keyboards, but couldn't sing. Brian know how to sing and play bass, but didn't play drums. And Roger knows it all, drums, guitars, bass, keyboards and vocals. Althought I heard that he didn't consider himself a good keyboard player, that helped him create Radio Ga Ga (seems limitations were helpful for both Freddie and Roger), and that's why he had keyboard player on first solo albums and first The Cross album, which started as Roger's solo album (that's why Clayton, Peter and Joshua doesn't appear on all tracks).

HEAVEN FOR EVERYONE pieseň skupiny THE CROSS, ktorá v roku 1988 skončila na 84.m. Autorm skladby bol Roger Taylor a pochádzala z debutoveho albumu skupiny SHOVE IT, ktorý bol v UK rebríčku dva týždne od 6. februara 1988 a skončil na 58.m. Skupinu The Cross vytvoril v oktobri 1987 hráč na bicie skupiny Queen Roger Taylor. V skupine boli Spike Edney klavesy, Clayton Moss gitara, Peter Noone basová gitara a Josh Macrae bicie.Bol to tretí hit skupiny z tohto albumu po skladbách Shove It a Cowboys and Indians.Dva ďalšie albumy skupiny z rokov 1990 a 1991 sa neumiestnili v rebríčku v UK.
