I'm a simple, depressed 18-year-old. I just graduated high school today and I'm on my way to college eventually this August. I watched the Bohemian Rhapsody film months ago and I was astounded by the acting and song performances despite it being partly accurate to Freddy and Queen. But hearing this song in the credits had me in a good mood, it had me start listening to it on loop every day at school. It was a rough, awkward year for me, but this song giving me a reason to smile at every listen got me through the tough times alone, it suddenly made me become a fan of Queen. Even I regret not watching the film or enjoying the band sooner. 😅 And aren't I glad I'm not the only one enjoying this song at a daily basis. Let's go get the video to a billion views guys! All the comments on these videos are either "I'm 15 and I listen to this music because it makes me hipster and cool", or comments complaining about that stuff. First off, I'm 15 as well, and I *love* classic rock. I know there are good artists in this generation, but a majority of the popular songs right now are not really that great. Second, I don't listen to this music because it makes me cool. Of course I enjoy having a taste in music that's different from the current generation, because it makes me feel *different*. I really like listening to music that's different from the current generation because i feel like I don't blend in with the crowd. Third, can we have one comment talking about how great Queen is in general? All of their songs are amazing, and Freddie Mercury is fucking *incredible*. His "outrageously flamboyant" stage persona is awesome to watch, and his voice is *amazing*. Even songs like this one, which have a rather happy and upbeat sound, make me feel kind of sad, or melancholy. The songs all have such deep meanings, and invoke a lot of feeling. Every time I hear this song, it sounds like Freddie Mercury is not only telling the world, but any outside conflict to just let him rock. I don't know the exact date this song came out, but if it came out around the time he was diagnosed with HIV, that brings a whole new meaning. "Don't Stop Me Now" sounds like a plead or a command, depending on your interpretation. It's as if Freddie is telling HIV to leave him alone, and let him continue his career and passion.

Well said right there. I'm 18 right now, and really, I've had a lot of people in general saying stuff about being cool for listening to certain music. It's not really directly said, but the way some people claim they listen to "death metal" and then put on some kind of bullshit modern melodic whatever band is basically the same shit. It sometimes does piss me off also. Especially since I listen to the ACTUAL old school death metal bands. Sometimes people also really look at me in some weird way, if I put on Genesis or something like that. I think it's all just people wanting to look smart, throwing music terms and whatnot everywhere, like they are a fucking rocket scientist. In some cases, they don't even play an instrument, or just generally tell stuff every fan knows. You are damn right.

I am of the opinion that while there is some good music out there, I simply have a preference for classic rock. It's just the type of music I like. Kirk Landau why not? Because it wouldnt have free will? What is free will anyway? From a first person perspective its easy to think we have free will, however from a third person perspective it gets a little weird because in a nutshell we're all just responding to the laws of physics we're presented with. Just like the aforementioned robot. You know and i know that its just responding with yes or no to whatever situation its presented with, but it would think that it has free will. Your point that a robot would somehow be less of a singer than any human is invalid because one day machines will potentially be just as good as humans and then eventually better, more precise, more efficient, and may even outlast us all together making them an eventual evolutionary step for humanity
