Learn how to make easy bricks that only look advanced for your dollhouse or miniature project. This method is fun and requires only basic tools and cheap paint.
*During the coloring process, I misspoke. I said I mixed one part red, one part yellow, two parts raw umber. Rather than raw umber, I meant to say raw sienna.

Plaster Ratio:
I used DAP Plaster of Paris. It calls for a 2:1 ratio of plaster to water. I replace 20% of the water with PVA glue (Elmer's). That works out to a 4:1 ratio of water to glue.
I have lots of projects planned ranging from abandoned miniatures, furniture makeovers, dioramas, accessories, kits and Dollhouse Miniatures in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

I made some brick fronts using fast-food drink carriers. The texture is perfect. Applying craft paint hardens the bricks up significantly. I inked the edges and a bit of the front to age then up. Then I applied a coat of matte modge podge.

Awesome! Egg carton works well, too. Paper pulp products work well in general.

@@queencityminis I have a “thing” about old bricks, they have a lot to tell; if only! ☺️ I live in an old Victorian cottage and I love to touch the (red )bricks and imagine the history that they’ve seen, so your beautiful artwork on those bricks have really impressed me, so much so that I have my eye on my old dolls house .....it might be getting a facelift! 😂👏👏 Thanks once again 🌻

Thank you! Yes, I used flocking. I got mine from a local hobby store. The brand is Woodland Scenics but there are lots of different brands that work as well.
