Thank you for sharing the baking powder technique and also how to fix things up when they don't go as planned! The best miniature-making skill, in my opinion, is knowing how to change plans in the middle of a project and keep going!! It looks so realistic, and honestly, I have definitely made real life bread that was that brittle before😄

Don't worry about breaking your bread slice. If you cut bread before it's cool it will often tear. But hot bread is the best, so it's a risk I'm willing to take. I wonder if the baking powder would work better with a thinner, more flexible clay. Maybe some regular polymer clay mixed with liquid clay. The clay needs to be stretchy so it can stretch around the bubbles. And if baking powder doesn't have enough moisture, it won't fully activate. I wonder if making a slurry from the water and baking powder before mixing it into the clay will give it a head start on CO2 production.

Polymer caly’s as Cernit and Fimo and other brands are a oil baced product, so using water, can make it crumbely and fall appart, some times it goes well, but that is really more luck than anything els.

It does feel strange mixing water into it, but Simply Stella bailed the technique. I'd love to see if oil or liquid clay would work as well.
