Mary was a very intelligent person! She knew and understood Freddie better than anybody else in his life. Mary perceived what he wanted in life, how he had to go about to achieve his dreams and never stood in his way. Freddie always came first. She was always there for him but never interfered! Freddie liked that about her. They loved each other, but that could never be. They both left and went their separate ways throughtout the years but always came back to each other, because they were soul mates forever!

@AnnieStubbins Mary loved Freddie at one time, and Freddie loved Mary; but that could never be! It was Freddie who wanted Mary near him to the point of employing her to take care of the finances for the group. That was a huge responsibility! Throughout his life, Freddie did nothing without consulting Mary. Remember, Freddie was no dummy and neither was Mary! He could have gotten rid of her if he didn't want Mary around. Many years past in between; Mary married, had children, and still neither one of them let go. Mary was far and yet near! Mary deserved everything Freddie left her in his will. Let go of your envy!!

They really had the perfect love story. It was beyond sex, and self indulgence, and self serving. Obviously Freddy loved self indulgence, which included sex and drugs, but his love of Mary never left his heart and mind. So many people claim she was evil etc. but the reality is he trusted her more than any other human being because of her unconditional love. Unconditional love is so rare and he knew that, so they truly were the perfect couple despite all the haters. I am jealous of their relationship but am happy they were able to experience it.

So sad, he’d be alive if he stayed with Mary, this , I think, began with the childhood detachment from his mother, he needed her and was sent to an all boys school probables, don’t know but could have led him to be bi, I’m only guessing , no way could I know, if he was born that way, things no matter still would continued anyways, and Mary could have been hurt also, it all worked out I guesse as it should have

I wish I could have known them... I've heard they were wonderful people. I experience extreme sadness with the details of Freddy's passing. But joy of his life and music. Queen is forever embedded in the fabric of my soul. I was in the fourth grade in 1977 and remember when I first heard Queen. I've been a fan of their music ever since. I grew up with their music and it has been a huge path to bonding with friends in my past. I will always appreciate Freddie, Brian, Roger and John. And I appreciate Mary for being there for Freddie.

Freddie loved Mary, and she was the love of his life. He kept her by his side, until his end. According to his song, the day would come, Freddie would return and reclaim his love to Mary. In his will, Freddie declared his true love and loyalty to Mary. She gave him support even when she was hurt. An unusual, and mutual love to the end. No doubt, Mary still loves, and is loyal to Freddie Mercury in life and death. 💕❣️💞

Beautiful! She was the love of his life! He got caught up unfortunately in the crazy times, fame & fortune. He did propose to her after all and left her EVERYTHING, including his ashes that only she knows where they are per his request! Obviously more than friends but once he contracted aids, he was not going to have sex with her because he was too good of a person, he would never do that. Just this year Mary has a KZbin stating that they were married in EVERY sense of the word! She says they lived the marriage vows! Amen! The song he wrote her is the most beautiful song ever! We love you both!

I agree 100% that the love of your life doesn’t have to be your lover. I’ve had this same situation in my life. My first boyfriend was when we were twelve, and really being so young we were just friends who had so many parallels in our lives that we bonded over. We became boyfriend/girlfriend and it was so amazing. I felt so safe when we were together, he would have died to protect me. When we were 16 he sold his favorite item, a pistol (we grew up in the country, met riding horses) and bought me a sweetheart ring for Christmas with the money. We couldn’t have been more smitten if we tried. In March after the ring, I had two friends tell me that he had gone out with another girl. I had very deep and justified trust issues from early childhood that he knew all about, so I was devastated when I heard it. I wrote him a note, calling him some very unkind names, but never explained why I suddenly wouldn’t give him the time of day. I went on to date and marry someone else as did he. After 30 years of no contact, fate stepped in and he got my work number by happenstance. We lived in different towns about an hour apart. I’ll never forget that it was a Tuesday in early March of 2007 when my office phone rang and I answered as I always did, with stating my department (I ran an X-ray department for 21 specialists) and my name. The voice on the other didn’t say anything, then asked what I was doing. I said I was working, then I was asked how I was doing and I responded that I was fine. He then said who do you think this is? In all honesty, he sounded like my brother, so I said is this Ron? He knew my husbands name was not Ron, so he immediately asked who Ron was. I laughed and said he was my brother, he began to chuckle and I got goosebumps all over realizing who it was. I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, hang up on him, or what. I said his name and could barely get it past the lump in my throat and heart. I had never forgot about him or stopped wondering what happened in his life, and he said it was the same for him. One of the very first things he wanted to know is what happened all those years ago, so I shared what I had been told about him. He began to cry and he named the two people that would have told me that and astounded I asked him how he knew and he said that they wanted to break us up because one wanted to date him. He told me he didn’t start dating until 3 years after we broke up. We met up again for the first time in all those years with our mates there and the chemistry of just being close enough to touch each other could have sent a rocket to the moon! We met a few more times and it wasn’t kissing or sexual at all. It was more like finding your long lost twin! That’s been nearly 14 years ago now, and instead of constantly texting or talking on the phone, we email each other and have some distance between us, but it’s okay, because we both know the other one is there “to the grave”. It’s wonderful having a love like that for life. I’m so happy Freddie and Mary had that kind of love after they were no longer a couple.

This song breaks my heart. It's said that Freddie was always searching for true love in spite of his partying but he sadly couldn't give Mary what she needed. I do believe she was the love of his life, even if he didn't write this song for her, it may have become her song over the years due to the deep and lasting nature of their friendship.

Beside the band and his family , Mary and Freddie met and fell in love when he was Fred Bulsara, a aspiring musician. Everyone else came after, when he was famous. How could he not love and trust her the most. SHE was there way before the fame, and fell in love with that person. Not the super star. Everyone else came after. Wouldn't you wonder, is it me or the star. Its why he trusted her with all in his life. Queen forver.

+Aida Rasulova This is the paradox of gay versus bisexual...and remember that the only times Freddie ever seriously discussed his sexuality he referred to himself as "bisexual"...a truly gay man loves men, and uses women (when it is socially convenient to do so?)...a bisexual man loves women, and uses men (for recreational purposes?)...

Freddie was wonderful to Mary and I don't think she ever got over him. Of course we know he adored her also. Both were lucky to have found each other. Until he became famous with Queen Freddie's life was very hard too. That he shared his good fortune with her tells us everything about their relationship. Two outsider's who, in the long run, only had each other. That's a love more powerful than sex or money.
