It is truly sad that one of the greatest hokies ever has received so much hate that she doesn’t even feel comfortable to walk at graduation or go out in public because she’ll be harassed. The same people who say she’s not loyal were so fast to be unloyal to her and hate her for leaving without knowing her reasons. Smh go be great 5 wish u the best, I hope one day you’ll feel welcomed/loved here again.

I still wear my Georgia swag. She help BUILD this program and deserves to see her jersey hanging in Cassell. You watch, in the future, there will be ZERO players that play their entire career somewhere that have their jersey retired. She gave VT 4 full years. Her coach left. She has to follow to get the continued training she deserves. She still bleeds Maroon and Orange...don't make her feel unwelcome. Georgia you will always be a HOKIE!!!!

The real Hokie community LOVES YOU Georgia, and are so proud of everything both of you have built. I'm so sorry that you have had such terrible shit said and thrown at you, you don't deserve that. We will be cheering you on, you're forever a Hokies legend! We appreciate the full honesty from both of you, it's rare to hear something so truthful and forward. All support and love here, go continue to be great you two!

Georgia saying it was like a bad break up is a perfect analogy. I wish Coach Brooks would have addressed Hokie Nation. He seemed to slink off in the night. I think that is what a lot of people were mad about. Wish you both the best of luck. You guys were so fun to watch play.

I was there for the UVA game when Liz was injured. I know everyone was up in their feelings after that, but I think it is worth mentioning that Georgia put the team on her back and had an amazing game. It was incredible to watch. You both gave your all! Thanks for the memories and good luck. I'll be wearing orange and maroon but still cheering for you next season, Amoore. Forever a hokie.

Liz and Georgia, I will always be grateful for what you did for VT. Kenny Brooks will always have my greatest respect and admiration for the work he did to raise you up to the best duo in the country on one of the greatest teams in the country. Sports does not build character - GREAT COACHES and GREAT Parents build character, and the two of you are among the finest women to ever attend VT. I will always be a Hokie and support our teams, but that doesn't mean that I can't also watch Kentucky Women's Basketball. It is not being a traitor, it is paying unwavering respect to people who have done so much for all of us!! I look forward to watching VTWBB next season AND watching Coach Brookes, Georgia, and Clara, and cheering you on to a great season at Kentucky.

I graduated from Tech in 1979. Your team was my favorite team to root for in the past 45 years. This is a weird thing to say on social media, but the biggest mistake you could make would be to think that social media represents reality. It would be a sad world if it did. My family and I have loved watching you play and appreciate all you did for Virginia Tech. Even my granddaughters are fans. The very great majority of Virginia Tech fans are rooting for you and always will. The small minority are loonies not worth your time. Your parents should be very proud of both of you. Good luck !

Yes you will always be Queens of Cassell! I hope you keep making a podcast together because we the people want updates. Rebranding makes sense (i.e. podcast 'By The Book' -> 'How to be fine') and if you want to pass the name to the girls left behind that would be nice, but please put your catch-ups in the same feed for us. Thank you for all your hard work these last 4 years and what you have done for the program and women's sports in general. You two are legends and I can't wait to see how your pro careers go. Georgia - congrats on your shiny new degree! Liz - I hope your recovery is speedy and complete! Good luck ladies!

Georgia and Liz! I’m so glad to hear the updates on you both. I’m sorry, Georgia, that the small minds got to you. I’ve experienced online hate and it does feel very real. It is real as far as being around people who wish you ill. It’s not like the hate coming from the online crowd is all far away Many of these people live next door and would never say to your face what they are saying online. Take it from me, time will make it easier but you won’t forget. The only people who matter are the people who don’t turn their backs when you do something that’s right for you but not for them. You are both complete ballers who have brought so much joy to me and my family through watching you play. You just keep being you and never look back! We are fans for life regardless of who either of you play for!! ❤❤❤❤

You were our daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, and we will still pull for you both! Someone asked me why I was still getting season tickets. also it didn’t need to be a bad breakup. the fans made it that way. in life you go your seperate ways and you should be proud of the person forever. it should have been a mutual breakup in the sense that you will always have great love for each other and always have each others back. not a bad breakup. she gave her all to the program and what she got back in terms of death threats is ridiculous

yes i agree. let georgia know the only people hating are the mentally ill ones. idk how you hate on someone for transferring after giving their all to a program for 4 years. she’s not a traitor, she already graduated. where she goes after is on her no one else. people are delusional. also a good amount of ncaa athletes graduate at a different school that they first were recruited too. it’s kinda rare nowadays for people to stay at one place. considering georgia stayed 4 years, at a 4 year university and is getting hate is stupid.

I'm so glad to see this episode and I really do hope you'll continue to post. I'm sure you BOTH still have tons of fans who want to support you and keep up with your lives and careers. Some people have very toxic relationships with their sports fandoms and it's so gross how people have turned on Georgia and Coach Brooks. Hokie fans really took it on the chin, losing Liz to injury, and then our coach and other favorite players all in rapid succession. Of course I was heartbroken when each of those stories broke, but I'll always love what each of you did for the program I love, and next year I'll have twice as many games to watch and care about, so that's cool. I think it would've been easier for hokie fans to swallow seeing Georgia go pro because it's less like a breakup, I guess, but I'm excited to watch UK games next season, and the 2025 WNBA season will be amazing. I live in Portland and I'm already planning to go to Gemma's games here, too. If there's an Amoore to watch, I'm tuning in and cheering for her. Nothing but love for you ladies. Congratulations on all you have accomplished, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you've done for Virginia Tech, women's basketball, and the girls who will follow in your footsteps. Can't wait to watch you both continue to play and thrive. 🫶

True Hokie fans love both of you and appreciate what both of you did for the VT womens team as well as VT as a whole. Hopefully hearing both of yall speak on the matter provided closure to some who quickly forgot what these two did for VTWBB. Don't let the vocal minority win and change your views on the university. Georgia you may not read this but maybe Liz will and relay it to you but you should walk for graduation. This is a once in a lifetime event that celebrates the hard work you put in academically all while being an outstanding athlete. You will never get that chance to take back not walking. I think you will be surprised in the reaction you get from other graduates.

Just watched and mad that any Hokie would throw hate your way. People graduate and move on all the time. You brought so much joy and excitement to their lives. We wish you the best and will be watching. As frequent vegas junkies we can’t wait to see Liz on the court as an Ace. Please keep the pod going.

Mute the MF haters. Please please keep it going with you two! The pure joy and comfort y’all bring is tremendous. I think I speak for many when I say we’d love nothing more than to continue to hear your voices talking about the new adventures 😊

This was a great episode, with some real honesty from both of you. I would love to hear about your journeys going forward, with Liz's rehab and Georgia's new experience in Kentucky. Re-brand the podcast and keep it going! Get Liz some KZbin ad revenue 🤣Living in NY, I became a fan when I switched on a game at random in Jan. 2023, and I will remain a fan. Liz and Georgia forever!!!

Before I even watch the episode, I just want to say THANK YOU to you both. Words can't describe the joy you've brought me and our family. I have a DVR full of those games this season, especially the stellar February, and I'm so proud of what you all accomplished. I will miss you both, and Cayla, Clara and Liv and Coach Brooks, but I wish you all nothing but the best. I'm forever changed for the better because you took a chance on Virginia Tech. You both are Hokies for Life in my book, and I'm nothing but grateful. 🧡

i know it’s so sad but whoever is hating is mentally ill. so many people transfer after 1 year and that’s their choice. she stayed at virginia tech which is a 4 year university, for 4 years. idk why people r mad. she was not a traitor considering she didn’t have to use her last year of eligibility if she didn’t want to

Best of luck to both of you ladies. Keep the channel. I'm a VT Mom and you help me keep up with my daughter's jargon, mannerisms and references. Also new love for Cayla King for reading the bible to you.

This Hokie Alum loves the Queens of Cassell! Granted late to the Hokie Basketball game, my daughter and I started watching the 22-23 season when her high school coach asked them to watch the games and report back. This brought us closer and we loved to watch you guys on the court (plus the other Hokie Ladies from this year and last). Georgia we love your humor and quick wittiness and Liz we love your determination on the court! Please keep the podcast going! And Georgia, I hope you decide to walk at graduation, that broke my heart for you to say you didn’t think you would. You deserve this moment, don’t let anyone take that away from you. 🧡🦃

Thank you for coming back to do this episode. It was hard on everyone to see the season crash so dramatically and communication was minimized (if at all) as so many major shifts in your careers and the program played out. Hokie Nation is proud of everything you accomplished in maroon and orange and we will still be cheering for you (ok, maybe not if we end up playing KY in a game, but you know what I mean). Any way, Virginia Tech is better because of you two and Blacksburg is always home for VT alumni, so don’t be strangers and keep supporting the Cassell “queens” as they chase those records you all set.

GA, people are mad because they loved you so much. It doesn’t excuse anyones words or behaviors, but if they didn’t care about you, they wouldn’t care if you are going to another team. ❤️

Love this! Definitely gave me some closure! I’m a Hokie Fan for life. Liz and Georgia you both have been my favorites forever! It’s incredibly bittersweet that you girls are gone now. Liz I’m incredibly happy to see you rehab and get back to being the BEAST you are. Georgia it will be extremely hard to see you in Kentucky blue, I love you though so I will follow you. I just was saddened that Coach Brooks didn’t give the fans a farewell. I know he didn’t have to, it just would’ve been nice. Georgia block the haters! You are loved by MOST EVERYONE who are true Hokie fans. 😊

While I wish we had 1 more year of watching you in Cassell, I understand you following coach Brooks. Thanks for always taking the time to come out and speak to the kids and families that stayed for over an hour just to see you or get your autograph. You girls a wonderful people and true representations of what Hokies are. Sorry you’ve faced any negative criticism but those are not true Hokies and just selfish. Use the negativity to motivate you. Wish you all the best! Thank you!

Georgia- you do YOU and you are always a Queen and a Hokie! That doesn’t mean you can’t also be a Wildcat. Don’t let stupid people make you feel bad toward VT. Unfortunately there are idiots who are fans of every type. KEEP the podcast going for as long as you want. Just be Georgia and Liz if you want. I want to come see you play in KY AND watch Baker, Ekh, Wenzel, Suffren, Nelson, Micheaux. I want to see Liz play in Vegas. I will miss you but I get it. Ugh I’m so mad that you have had to put up with so much. One more thing- WHERE IS WINNIE? Please say she’s ok.
