What blows my mind is Josh's ability to play lead guitar AND sing. I've tried to replicate what he can do and it's bloody hard, it's almost like his vocals and his guitar work on two different time signatures.

QOTSA is the only band that I have consistently listened to over the years and I never get tired of listening to their music. I listen to one album, then another, and when I eventually go full circle back its like meeting a new friend and reuniting with an old one at the same time. That's exactly how music should make you feel.

There is no bad era, and that speaks to the band as an entity rather than a particular 5 person group. I personally miss Oliveri's vocals more than his bass playing, but he abuses women so I'm glad they kicked him out.

I looked up to him until I saw him kicking a monitor speaker off the stage into the security pit where one of the security dudes was standing..twice. Now I think he's a prick. Edited to add: This was 18th November 2017, Wembley Arena. Villains tour with Broncho (fucking horrid band) as support, their frontman kept saying "Queeeeeeeeennnnnssssss...." to get the crowd going because they hated his band and because he was clearly munted.

The bass player is the real deal. I liked the original bassist too which everyone’s name is eluding me at this present time. But this newer guy is slick. His harmonies are on point. Falsettos are also on point as well

Nick Oliveri was the first bassist. I appreciate Nick for his contribution. Micheal ( Mikey Shoess) Shuman joined at 22 years old. Correct me if I'm wrong Mikey tour with album Era Vulgaris release. I really, really love this bands setup. Josh has put it together in such a way that they can (and do) perform any and everything they want live! The ability to have up to 3 guitars, multiple keyboards, back up vocals on demand is fantastic. (Of course I’m referring to this V2.0 QOTSA)

In 2014 I heard this session SO MANY TIMES in my way to work, this motivated me a lot, and that was very a special year for me so I remember this session with so much love. In october 2014 I saw QOTSA live in Santiago, Chile and that was one of the best concerts of my life.

Right on, I picked up 8 years May 2022. QOTSA is empowering, sober or not. While not sober, I trained for and ran a marathon listening to them. Then another marathon a few years later while in sobriety. The lyrics and music took on a different meaning given the change in perception.
