I absolutely love the Broadway Lion King, especially the songs "He Lives in You" and "Shadowland," two potent additions that I actually think make the Broadway music surpass the original animated movie soundtrack. Those two songs speak to my spiritual and environmentalist soul, so hearing them always makes me cry. These amazing ladies made me cry twice as hard...with ALL the songs! I have no words for such awesomeness. I grew up as a minister's kid, and I had yet to hear any church congregation sing their dry, dusty beliefs with as much true heart and soul as these beautiful women sang the Deeper Truth within the Lion King melodies. THIS is singing with heart and soul! You ladies rock!

I really appreciate the arrangement of the medley. The story it tells flows amazingly with the songs leading into each other really well and I also appreciate that "Be Prepared" was not included for a couple of reasons. One being that it's used in EVERY medley, two being that it just would not have fit with the rest of the medley, and three being that the message of the song itself just isn't the greatest (make no mistake. I really like it as a villain song- it just wouldn't have fit this medley). So many Lion King medleys just kinda mash the songs together in an order that barely makes sense, but this one had a very clear story to it and I really appreciate that.
