Liberal MP Andrew Wallace says Queensland Premier Steven Miles will “do and say anything to hang onto the reins of power”.
“People are well and truly sick and tired of this state Labor government,” Mr Wallace told Sky News Australia.
“They have been in power for 30 out of 35 years … they have well and truly had enough.
“Steven Miles, I was listening to his press conference just then - this is a guy who will do and say anything to hang on to the reins of power.”

@@mike_au Why does the LNP want to cut coal tax royalties then? Literally making millions in revenue for the state. Labor spending is to support health and housing for Queensland citizens, how is that not supporting Queensland citizens? Isn't that literally the goal of the government, to look after the people? That's even what Lilly is claiming they aren't doing. I cannot believe it has to be explained that cutting back on funding to hospitals to save money is a bad idea. We are already facing issues with ramping, and LNP wants to make it even worse.

Miles showed so little compassion and respect for families, wives killed, children assaulted, homes invaded and violated, that I could not understand that he could have any empathy for victims. He showed little, laughing at them. That is the great take away this man has left me with. It will not subside. Toxic as!.

Precisely. It's crazy how Labor can implement actual cost of living measures like people wanted, and LNP shills complain that it's just a ploy to get re-elected, so if Labor implements cost of living measures, then they get criticised for using it as a ploy, but if they don't, then it's not giving Queenslanders what they want? What are they supposed to do? Ridiculous. Unfortunately it still seems like the LNP will get in, but there's still hope

Neither party has said how they intend to reduce the state debt. Instead the ALP wants to stick its nose further into our lives by providing school lunches. No explanation as to how many more civil servants would be needed to administer such a program which would probably need a whole new ministry for silly walks. We have more civil servants in Queensland than the country of New Zealand and they have to administer an army, navy and airforce as well as all the departments of a federal nation. You can mock Campbell Newman but he saw the problem developing - the public service needs trimming back not made bigger.
