Sorry Flip. I don’t know the full details, but based solely off this convo you’re wrong. Joe started off doing you a favor with the extra payments. Joe has the right contractually to cut you off after the three months or even ask for the extra money back depending on the contract terms. Above all else, Flip is wrong because he ASSUMED and EXPECTED that special treatment to continue. It don’t work that way homie. Even if you’re doing above and beyond, you stay humble. People will see you excel and a better opportunity will come around whether from Joe or somewhere else. But you can’t assume anyone will continue to give you special treatment. its not a favor. He was doing extra work that wasnt a part of any contract and was getting paid for that work. If and when the extra work started, he made it seem like it was sort of extra due to needing that money for 3 months but continued to do the extra work but when the pay stopped because he only claimed he needed that money for 3 months, he thought due to him still doing the extras, the money should have continued but that wasnt the agreement .. What joe should do, is tell him there is no extra work but since he didnt tell him that dude now feels a way because he thought joe would have taken the hint but hints dont work in contracts

Not the same situations. Rory and Mal were having contractual disputes first and foremost, and ultimately they didn't believe that the problems they were having would have come from someone they both considered a friend. Flip situation sounds like he believed that because of his contributions he should be making more. When he asked for an increase for the 3 months and it plus and extra 2 and was then cut off, he took it as a slight from his friend and it upset that he didn't let it continue.

It can be really difficult to navigate a "proper" approach, and it is the precise reason unions were created. I want to work as hard as I can (within reason) for as much money as I can make, but any company wants to pay as little as possible for as much work as possible. When you throw in supervisors/ managers who also want to maximize on your work minus being stand-up enough to acknowledge you, it gets really tricky.

The job is to compensate you fairly per the contract you signed. If you arent happy, see if you can re negotiate, but Joe is not obligated to go beyond the boundaries of that contract and exceed your regular payment just to keep you happy. You do your job, he pays you for that job. Its as simple as that. You cant ask for Joe to be a friend AND an employer and not expect for some compromises to happen. When a mofo is being skittish about giving the details on something they brought up is how you know they know they are wrong! This is why they try to beat around the bush to make things look better in their favor. I’m only wondering now how the other cast members feel regarding flip getting special treatment. Joe clearly doesn’t care because he’s willing to do that for all of them. Wow flip you are wrong as hell.

He is but he’s also right Flip did extra work without working out the money first for the extra work then he asked for a 3 month increase Joe gave him an increase for 6 months before bringing back to his normal pay, flip is wrong for this one

If you wanna do a 3 month trial run of something, get paid for it and do it, then after come back after and have a conversation about if it should continue. Joe could, but it's on Flip to keep the conversation about work schedule and pay increase on track

The fact Flip is not speaking to Joe except when they are on air (according to Flip on the BS High coach episode), in which Flip is becoming hostile with Joe is super weird. I hate this for Joe, because he looked out for Flip. Flip has a history of not paying people (taking advantage). He took advantage of joe going an extra 2 months without confirming for his show and now wants to play victim.

So flip asked for a favor with an expiration date. That favor got extended because it went unnoticed until a couple months later and then when they decided to cut it off because that was the original agreement, how you get mad? Flip 100% wrong. I’m sure Joe will make it right but if flip wants an increase then the entire contract has to be renegotiated for both sides to win. That’s just business.
