Quemazon Water Valve Leak

This is the first of multiple water valve leaks that shut down neighborhood traffic in the Quemazon subdivision of Los Alamos in early May 2024. The leaks were due to corrosion on the underground piping system. Department of Public Utilities staff developed a plan to proactively replace valve hardware upstream from the two broken valves as the pressure impact of repairs may increase the likelihood of breaks to neighboring valves.
