It's strange to watch something like this and realize it's a rare case of the interviewer being an actual fan, so there's no hostility in it. Tarantino is so often met with opposition from interviewers that you don't get to see much how he'd be when he's treated well.

No, ithere are plenty of interviews that go well, but most of the controversial ones came out at a time when the average joe like you and I didn't have a public voice on social media. So, we got what was fed to us, which was whever style the interviewer did, and whatever doctrine they wanted to push to make QT look bad. There are many examples of this from a similar era. The media tried to blame Maralyn Manson for the Colombine massacres simply because they were fans of his music.

There's something about genuine passion in content creators (writers in film and directors, video game developers or just people gushing over topics they love on KZbin) that literally revitalizes me. It's refreshing as hell to see someone who gives a shit about what they do beyond just doing a job. Here he is talking about how he wants to please fans when he's dead and gone, to never disappoint them, and it's the equivalent of drinking a glass of ice cold water after spending a day in the desert. It's *that* satisfying to hear and see. Hell, I get that feeling just watching fans being passionate about things they love. And by passionate I don't mean "being an asshole and getting anal about what color Batman's nose was while fighting Ice Man" passion, I mean "gushing over how much they love Elvis" or "praising Anthony Hopkins for his ability to change from one emotion to another smoothly in Westworld over a simple cup of tea". I. Fucking. _Love it._

I would give anything to discover Tarantino again. I saw Reservoir dogs on VHS when I was 14. I saw True Romance a year after and heard that another of his scripts, Natural Born Killers, was going to be directed by one of my favorite directors Oliver Stone. I went to see NBK on opening day and they showed the trailer for Pulp Fiction. It had won the Palm D'or in Cannes and I had heard great things about it. Seeing that trailer was so damned exciting that I kept thinking about it during the movie. I had to wait months to see Pulp Fiction, but it didn't disappoint. I've only had a handful of experiences in a movie theater that completely blew me away and left me with my jaw wide open. This was probably the most powerful. I've been a huge fan ever since. I never thought he would ever even come close to topping it until I saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. That is now vying for the top spot. I really hope he isn't serious about retiring.

Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite directors. He adores everything about film and pours his heart and soul into every second of the work he does. He creates fun, compelling stories and has never once let me down. He knows what’s going to work and he’s not arrogant about his scripts; he’s flexible and willing to work with whatever comes up as a project is being filmed. Tarantino’s never done a bad movie. He had his ups and downs but he hasn’t done a bad movie. He peaked in Reservoir Dogs and stayed in that place straight through to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and will continue to do so down the road. I don’t know if there’s any other director currently working that adores all facets of film as much as Quentin does.

I really wish every single interview was like that. It was fun, informative and engaging whilst putting a different spin on Quentin Tarantino. He’s an awesome filmmaker and someone who’ll be compared to Scorsese, Hitchcock, Leone and many others for his vision and his ability to tell a story on film.

Tarantino is one of my favs! I love him, M.Night Shyamalan, Christopher Nolan, Peter Berg, Tim Burton, and Scorsese. They all have such a unique style whose movies never miss!

I find it kinda impressive. Especially when you consider that this was 15 years ago too. Spielberg hadn't even made his worst films yet so this was quite the hot take indeed.

Ok...just because an actress doesn’t do a movie every single year, doesn’t mean that they are washed up. Darryl Hanna rocks still. Love Uma, and every single person that has been in a QT movie. That’s what made his movies. QT definitely knows how to cast. He does an amazing job doing it. 😍😍😍

What he said about Jackie Brown is exactly how I feel about Jackie Brown. When I rewatch it, it’s like visiting old friends. The Hawthorne 6. Love that Quentin is still a South Bay boy.
