His preoccupation with the perfect filmography has damaged his creative process. He wants too much stylistic uniformity between his movies, because he desperately wants them all to be coming from the same place and belong to a singular body of work. It severely limits the scope of what he allows himself to do.

He must have a better idea and didn't want this to be his last film. He wants to make sure his last film is not ony great but that it caps off his career as a director. That may be a problem since he will always second guess what his final film would be. He should have never capped it with a number. Instead, after finishing a film that he knows is great. Go, yeah, that's my last one.

It didn't really give off "last movie" vibes to me. Though I guess in some way it was relevant for a last movie. Like the concept of being judged by the last thing you make, the overall opinion and criticism that surrounds your oeuvre of work

I'm so glad. Once Upon A Time seemed like enough of that Hollywood theme. If his final film ends up being some other fantastical adventure style film in the likes of Django Unchained or Inglorious Basterds, I'll be so happy, and it'll feel like the right thing to end on.

This 'only 10 films' rule is starting to become a very restrictive limitation. He wanted to make Star Trek, but didn't want it to be his final film, so he scrapped it. Now the same has happened with this project. It's been 5 years since his last project, and he's only 61. If he wants to make 'Trek', 'Critic' and more films, he has plenty of time, and could've easily made one of them in the past 5 years.

Really? I could have sworn it was because the rightsholder or whomever was in charge of funding/producing the film said Tarantino wasn't allowed to make it R-rated, that's why he backed out or lost interest in making a Star Trek movie.

What we he does it’s will be a masterpiece. He’s akin to perfection. Just like when he was casting inglorious basterds. He almost canceled that movie project bc he couldn’t find someone to play Landa….then he found Christopher Waltz, and the rest is history. As movie fans and QT fans, we have to trust him. If something not right it’s not right. As a last movie the Critic didn’t sound like the last hurrah type of story….it sounded great. The way he explained it for me hooked. Bc that’s how much I trust QT. But if the movie project was cancelled it was because something wasn’t right, something was not gelling as as a filmmaker QT has taught us to follow our gut. Now if people could just take a chill pill and let the master do his work.

The screenplay was probably fire. QT is putting too much pressure on hinself with this whole last movie thing. Filmmakers make films. If you dont want to be a filmmaker anymore, then stop. But stop all this unnecessary "final film" hype. Miyazaki has had like 6 "final films" already. Then follows them up with another banger. He's the Never-ending Man. That's what filmmakers do. When their well of creativity runs dry, they take a break. Stop putting pressure on yourself, Quentin. You're a master at putting your dreams onscreen.

Tom Cruise would have made for an excellent Ken Touie. Not surprised Brad Pitt didn't want to play a version of Ryan O'Neil, given his current familial situation. I also think that Mr. Pitt's carear is doomed to go the way of Johnny Depp's anyway. Just wait until his Formula 1 thing crashes and burns.
