@@LouJNT I second that. When he made that awkward joke about being in the Hateful Ten, you could hear a handful of people semi chuckle. No alternate universe would ever pair the loud buffonery of Jimmy Fallon with the subtle genius of Quentin Tarantino. It would be a crime against my sight, my hearing and the cinematic arts.

For those of you who don't know Samuel L. Jackson was here to promote the film Kingsman: The Secret Service. Unfortunately they didn't upload the segment where they spoke about it. The film isn't getting a lot of promotion and its a real shame they didn't upload that part of the interview. It was directed by Matthew Vaughn who directed X-men: First Class and Kick-Ass. The movie has great scores on both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Please go out and see it you won't regret it.

Jesse Ventura Again, partially scripted. There's only so much time they can really talk at all. His JOB (and I don't really think he's a great interviewer in terms of being authentic anyway) is to keep people on the track of the show. He takes orders from his Executive Producer, do not be fooled into thinking he's "the boss". He's just the host, and has a lot of "boss" abilities, but at the end of the day he is asking his ExePro if they have time, if they can do this or that, etc. Anytime he looks off stage, that's who he is looking to.

Fishburne was holding out during negotiations for the part on Die Hard while the same time in Cannes, Pulp fiction was debuting. The producers overheard that Sam Jackson was gonna play, they flew out to see the film and ended up pulling the offer on Fishburne and inevitably gave the role to Mr. Jackson!

I really like his approach, that he didn’t take not getting the part personally, and understood that he didn’t get it in service of the film. It paid off, considering how many great parts he got from Tarantino since.

Jimmy Fallon is a talented guy, he sings and acts and all... But he is a terrible interviewer. His interviews always suck. It doesn't matter if the guest is good or bad, he always ends up ruining everything. Come on, man, you can do better than that. And please, for the love of God, stop forcing laughter. It's sickening.

I'll never know why people don't like Death Proof. First of all, it's part of Grindhouse, so it should be watched as a double feature right after Planet Terror. Secondly, it's a double genre movie itself. First half it's a 70's slasher film, second half it's car chase ozploitation. I love Grindhouse!

I'm not sure how Sam’s story about Tarantino saying he wrote it for him fits with Tarantino himself saying he went to Laurance Fishburn first and Larry’s management told him not to take it so Sam got it... Sam later got Die Hard because Larry was asking too much and the studio decided to check out Pulp at Cannes to see if Sam was any good... According to Quentin. It's possible that he wrote it for Sam then changed his mind, rewrote the character for Sam after Larry declined or just lied to him.

ztoker Yeah. Tarantiono even described Death Proof as "a horror movie where the serial killer uses a car instead of a knife", when he was still making it. But I would say only the first half is horror movie-ish. The rest is like a weird exploitation/revenge flick. Still a good movie though. I was just expecting something different when I seen it.

What I love is - he interviews for R Dogs - and Tarantino recognizes that he has the juice to play a Biblical grade character who completely dominates the screen - and writes that character for him. I also love that Samuel L. Jackson has class - like - how he said R. Dogs was great - despite not being cast.

I love Tarantino's films, every one of them (even Death Proof if that counts), but it''s been revenge/period pieces ever since Kill Bill. I honestly can't wait until he does another crime/drama/thriller set in modern times. I hope that'll be at least one of his last two films.
