@@squid_squad42069 Sorry this is a copy and paste from another threat but I feel like people are really not figuring out the benefit of the Ignite burn. This is what I figured out though. If you're playing the quest Ignite build there's literally zero reason to have discover cards in your deck it's just wasting time, just play draw and cheap cards and cycle ASAP. Even Auctioneer is a great fit in there along with the Sanctum Chandler just for more card draw. People will learn soon that you only want 1 copy of ignite, not 2 because of the exponential growth on it, and potion of illusion would work wonders in the deck along with maybe 2x phoenix. Basically all you need for the Ignite Quest build is 2x Ice Barrier for sustain and at least 1 more frost spell, but you could probably include 2x Flurry because 0 mana good for miracle plays. You draw like crazy, use some of the new cards like the tradeable fire AoE better cycle and an AoE if you need it. Run the fire package obviously but only one ignite, and all of your arcane cards will be for card draw. You want 2x Incanters, 2x Cram Session, 2x Intellect, 2x Spring Water and you should only be running 4-5 minions max. Cycle that shit ASAP, quest will no doubt be complete along the way, use an Auctioneer early if you need to for more cycle, you can include a Potion of Illusion either for combo with Dawngrasp to give 6 spell damage or to return a Chandler/Auctioneer to hand as 1 drop, and by this point you should be able to go infinite if not sooner. The streamers all included 2x ignite and they played slow and filled hand with discover cards and it simply won't work with an ignite deck. I'm sure people will figure it out once the set releases for everyone.

I think you need to play faster there were multiple turns when you could have progressed the quest but decided on value and that lack of spell damage earlier really hurt you. This is a burn deck IMO. But honestly just my opinion I’m not a great player.

@@rajkanishu The Raza combo required you to have no duplicates, play an 8 cost hero, then play a 5 cost Raza afterwards. The hunter quest lets you achieve the same endgame with a much smoother curve and much earlier then Raza Priest ever could. You can see in multiple games from KZbinrs that Hunters have consistently been able to drop Tavish turn 6 or 7 and then just go off. Raza Priest had to wait till like turn 9 at the earliest.

While Raza-priest was "no duplicates" and somewhat slower it also was build around the control options priest has. Will quest hunter be a thing? Probably, looks good. But hunter has neither the constant refill nor the draw power/card generation that priest had. Full aggro or even decent sized mid-range should beat them down because they lack a board and if they use their spells to control the damage going in they're not shooting you down.

if you check other streamers... they rushed the quest in 1-2 rounds an won easily. Trump is more of a Control/Value player when this deck is a tempo burn... Overall i got this quest in the preopening event and i just wish mage will be having a decent position in the meta because its my main and i would love to play Katrana Fire mage :D I got the Hunter one too which obviously going to dominate the meta (Facehunter as usual) but mage seems fun

I think I'm right in saying that you mostly want spells that draw, combo or reduce cost/give mana on your combo turn. Spell generating minions should be able to cover a fairly large amount of quest completion, but every extra spell in your deck is a miss on your combo turn, so you want as many as you need to consistently complete the quest and no more.

Sanctum chandler in a deck that requires about 2/3 of your cards (at least) to not synergize with it seems problematic. Probably this deck will end up being an all spells deck

Nah Chandler can sit in hand for combo at the end. People need to learn to drop 1x copy of ignite and include pretty much nothing but card draw, sustain and removal until the deck is empty and then just spam ignites. You're going to need ways to draw more than 1 ignite per turn by the end, preferably 3-4 and that's doable with mana biscuit, discounts and Chandler. There's no reason to lock hand up with discovers and value plays when your goal is to stack ignite higher. An auctioneer and 2x phoenix can work also but you should probably limit to about 5 units especially if you want Spring Water to work. I'll probably include a potion of illusion too just to grab a 1 mana chandler, but this depends if you need to lethal by turn 6 or not. 2x ice barrier should help progress quest and stay alive and minions can be dealt with in a number of ways whilst you cycle. It's also worth noting that with Quest complete and a perma +3 spell damage and if you line a phoenix or two to awaken on your burn turn the ignite could already be at 5 or so damage, and if you can play 4 in one turn and do 6+7+8+9 that is actually 30 damage. This could be achieved sooner depending if your opponent has heals or not.

You're not going to get value out of it if you just play it a couple of times when you draw it, that's going to feel so bad, ignite needs an entire deck built around it otherwise it's not worth it. All Cram Session and other card draw would do by the time deck is empty is draw ignite once and then deal fatigue damage to you, Chandler+Ignite is a combo, it immediately draws the upgraded ignite repeatedly as soon as you play it.

Watching these hunter quest plays already makes me unexcited for standard. Some of those quests seem way out of line. The Descent of Dragons quests were far better design imo, because they just weren't as powerful. Now all gameplay seems to revolve around your own quest while interacting with your opponent as little as possible. I hope i am completely wrong about this. And that Duels arenlargely unaffected.

From my experience over the years I'd wager that only ~2 quests will find a stable place in the meta but I do see and agree with your point that most quests they introduced here feel very much like "I do my thing, don't care non for what ever else is going on". @@CrunchyCroquette your point is just not correct lol, early expansion trash decks usually aren't representative of real meta. This hero power hunter for instance is a very slow and greedy deck with subpar control tools and bad card draw. Real decks will stomp it

@@shubhod9569 That just makes the issue worse. We already have these quests that only partially care about what the other side of the game is doing. So if those decks are the bad ones, the good ones now 100% dont care about whats going on and just do their own thing, and hearthstone turns into full solitaire. This tendency has been an issue in hearthstone for ages (see the term "Curvestone") and I fear this might become the worst curvestone meta yet. Again, I hope I am so utterly wrong as you think, but in a very different way than you described. Another thing: How is a deck thats literally almost exclusively direct damage and no card generation "greedy" and "slow"? Because they miss their turn 1? Is that enough?

They have to have a 10 card from expansion limit and a majority of the new mage spells are fire meaning running fireball will cut into the arcane or frost making it quite difficult to complete quest.

Just theory crafting: Ignite as the only fire spell in the deck, candle guy, arcane apprenticex2. If you find those pieces and assemble it (total 9 mana on minions), it should bring an OTK, right?

I feel like you should be spending spells to complete this quest ASAP. This is not about efficiency, efficiency is slinging spells with +3 spell damage active. You should be using spells on your minions if you have to. Especailly, since you had just played a hunter deck that played barely any minions. I mean, sometime it is entertaining, but if I suck at HS and can tell you aren't making correct choices, something is wrong.

Considering that it is customary to use "less" when talking about monetary costs it is not surprising that it is also used in this context. As I understand it the idea is that when quantifying something (eg. height, monetary wealth, mana) with units (meter, cent, mana crystal), even though the units may be countable, it is still okay to use "less" because the thing that is being quantified is not countable (even though the units are).
