I want to hear your opinion about death. I am 18 at the moment and up until very recently i didnt bother thinking about death. For what i had experienced with death, its just people you bearly know, stop showing up in your life, but one night i few months ago I started thinking about how it is to die. From my perspective there is no such thing as heaven or hell, i belive that god is a simple anwser given to people for questions we cant yet anwser with science. So what then? Is it wandering aimlessly in the abyss for the eternity? That anwser didnt satisfy me. It cannot be true since to wander aimlessly for eternity is to be conciouss and for what we know, counciousness dies along with the body. So nothing was the anwser i came up with. Nothing, You cant see, you cant touch, you cant hear, you cant think. That thought was way more terryfing than any idea i ve had of death until that moment. One doesnt really think about it on a daily basis. That night i couldnt sleep, i was shievering and my heart was racing as if i was falling from a skyscraper. From that day on I cant stop stressing about it. Not a single day with piece of mind. What makes it worse is that its already been 18 years. What do i have? 60 more to go? 70? Its all so stupiedly low that it makes me want to cry. I fortunetelly do not regret how i lived my life until now, but the sheer thought of dying crushes me. One other interesting idea i got is that dementia might actually be a blessing in disguise. When your death nears, you dont want to think about it. Dementia might actually be a way for us to die in peace.
