@tedpreston41559 ай бұрын
That has become a mantra of sorts for me as well. I wasn't surprised to hear Paola use that expression in the same breath as she praised the effect of meditation on her life. One of the most common forms of meditation encourages us to be aware of the thoughts that intrude on our consciousness when we're trying to focus our awareness on something else. We can learn so much by examining the sort of thoughts that our minds pester us with, without judging ourselves over having produced those thoughts. That sort of observation is invaluable for understanding how our minds work, subconsciously, and how often our repetitive thoughts represent emotions that are not "honest": they too often represent feelings and judgements that are not based solidly in reality. Observing those thoughts teaches us that we should not absorb them. Many of our thoughts simply don't serve us well, and we are happier in the end if we recognize this unhelpful tendency of our our minds. I too appreciate Paola's wisdom. I wish that someone had taught me these lessons when I was her age.

"I did the best I could with the information and resources I had at the time" is the healthiest mantra especially going into parenting. My second favorite is "This is temporary." Every time I struggled as a new parent I sought some sort of fix or technique to solve an issue with my little (from gas pains to sleep) only to realize later I simply just needed to comfort and wait for her to come through this growth spurt or physical maturity etc. There is so much information out there and people wanting to sell you workshops or "solutions" to perfectly normal childhood experiences that just require love and patience. I personally found all the information quite disconnecting from really getting to know my children and attuning to their unique needs. Information always changes and giving oneself grace and room to grow as a parent (even apart from that wealth of information) is so vital. ❤

@mdmcgee9 ай бұрын
@kaiju_k5042 little ones are so pure and genuine and NEW. I found that I needed to grow and change in the early years more than I needed to try to train or force my littles to fit into some sort of prescribed mold that would somehow magically make it all "easier." It simply is really hard for a while. You lose a lot of ease and comfort. But it does all come back with time and all the tremendous joys Paola talks about looking forward to makes it absolutely worth it. Its good to remember kids eventually burp on their own, go potty on their own, feed themselves, sleep through the night, etc. when you're exhausted and overwhelmed with these things in the moment. It's temporary. I've found some of the hardest things in life are absolutely the most worthwhile. ❤️

I love how open you are about mental health. I feel like you are such a "real" youtuber. One whom we can actually relate to! Keep it up! I know it takes vulnerability to be open about such things. But I feel like we need more awareness on this subject. Love that you mentioned brain rewiring! I'm currently do a course myself to help with my anxiety! Truly amazing how our body can heal itself if our nervous system is regulated!

I couldn’t agree more with everyone who has affirmed your choice to protect your child with regard to the internet. God bless you and your lovely family!

What a sweet vignette you make, sitting in that lovely corner…reminds me of an old Masters painting. You are so wise beyond your years. While I would love to see pictures of your baby, I believe that your decision is most prudent. I so enjoy your videos. ♥️

I'm so glad you won't be showing your little one on the internet. I knew you'd have the maturity and wisdom to guard your child's privacy. Wishing you and your family good health.

I appreciate the creators who don't run ads during their videos as it allows me to be whisked away into a creative place. In turn, I commit to watching the ads before and after the video. I watch way more ads this way than those interrupting the video. Thank you! ps also, I totally understand and respect your decision to not show your baby. :).

Thank you for saying “parenthood is not for everyone, and that’s okay” ❤

Thank you so much for sharing. I also feel like you. Learning to observe and not absorve. I´ve been watching you for a whole year ( and maybe more) and I can see how you have changed throughout your videos and not only that I recognize changes in myself. That thought made me happy. Looking back you were the perfect company for the process I´ve been living. Thank God and you of course for being brave and keep opening up your heart. I would love to learn that from you and find new ways of being courageous and offer what I was given. Sending my love, Có from Argentina.

I was so hoping we wouldn't see your baby, as much as I love looking at adorable little bubs, I just don't think it's healthy in so many different ways. Great choice 🩷

One of my favorite vloggers is Fairyland Cottage in Ireland. They had a baby and were very good about not showing her. The vlogs are very well done just like yours. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to anything you wish to share.

I agree with your choice for your child. I have found it rather sad when a new baby or child is constantly exposed to a camera in their personal space. I am of the opinion this is really unhealthy. There is nothing wrong with taking pictures or filming family with moderation. But these days it seems a camera, iPhone, TV is what so many parents put in front of their little ones to pacify. ❤

You're building emotional muscle. Being present is a lifelong journey, but one worthy of consideration. Love your channel, Paola. Your art has given me lots of joy. Thank you.

As a 70 something grandma... I have always felt fascinated by little humans. I grew up with all girls in my home. Dad was mostly working so it was me, my Mom, a little sister and an older sister. We were close as there was only 2 years between each of us. But since I was surrounded by girls... I found boys the most interesting, I envied people with brothers. I thought that must be so wonderful. So I had a son , who is now 51, and he gave me 3 grandsons!!!! They are now 29, 19 and 3 years old!!!! I got all my boys and found their growing from babies to young men, to fathers the most fascinating journey ever! My favorite artist is also Beatrix Potter and I loved Tasha Tudor. I love the textiles on your chair and lap blanket. The colors and patterns are soft and beautiful.
