Can you plllleeeeease make a huge effort to see your grandma more. I truly regret not doing that bc I just kept feeling I had more time and she had more time. It’s weird because I knew she was getting old and that people obviously don’t live forever, but I still didn’t change my actions. I let my “super busy” life just sweep me away from what’s important and didn’t really digest that there is such a thing as being too late. Throughout my 20s, I just focused on my own thing, career, hanging out with friends, attending endless social events. But never made it a priority to see my grandparents. Now no amount of success or money can bring me even one moment with her. Don’t have the same regret as me! Thanks Weylie for this video, love it.

Definitely got teary-eyed when you were talking about your grandma. I relate to how you spoke of your grandma and being raised all your life by her. I lost my grandma when I was 13. She passed away in her sleep (it was ruled a heart attack or sleep apnea) and I was by her side the whole time along with her other grandchildren (we would fight over who got to sleep next to grandma). Her alarm was set at 5am and she didn’t wake up to turn it off, and that’s when I discovered she wasn’t breathing. Her skin was cold and pale and her bladder was emptied, that’s when I knew she had passed several hours ago.. :( A part of me felt like I could have saved her in time if I stayed up, because that night I had a strange feeling something bad was going to happen. She was the kindest and most loving person ever and gone too soon. I miss her everyday

I'm so emotional when you guys talked about grandparents, my grandpa passed away when I was 8, it's quite a long time ago. But every time I thought about him, my tears just cannot stop coming out. I never had a chance to say thank you, you are the best grandpa, and I love you. I even regret it for everyday. Because i'm Asian, we normally won't express our feelings, I just want to say, don't be embarrassed, if you don't say it now, time goes by, you might lose the chance and regret for rest of your whole life.
@kakakaylee52386 жыл бұрын
I do hope this encourages you to speak deeply with your grandmother, even if it is uncomfortable or awkward. If I could do the same for mine, I wouldn't even hesitate now. My parents took my grandmother to her annual check up at the doctors, and I didn't go because I wanted to go to work to save money. My grandmother was extremely healthy and the doctor said she was in perfect health. She died two days after the office visit. I can't tell you how much I wish I could just express my love and gratitude for all that she did now. Please consider it, and record it for yourself to keep for your memories. I absolutely loved this interview and how real it is. Thank you for making this.

You know about the jealousy part I feel most people are very secretive about it and it eats away at the relationship on it's own. Whenever I'm jealous of my friend I tell them. I might not be *happy* for them at that moment but because the majority of my friends are the same minority/socioeconomic status it's a victory for my people too. So I say "I'm jealous that you've accomplished so much when I feel I've accomplished nothing but I am incredibly proud of you and your achievements". It works for us and I think it shows our vulnerabilities.

Awhh, the way you talked about your grandma! ❤️ Sounds just like my own! I grew up with mostly my grandma home. She is the sweetest, most open-minded and patient person ever. & her cooking are the best. She makes the simple dishes but in the most intricate way. Her dishes are healthy but flavorful and aromatic. I followed her everywhere when I was a kid. She doesn’t know English, but always manages to get from A to B with me through the public bus transportation. She used to tell me folktales every night bc I wouldn’t be able to sleep without one. Please show you grandma more in your vlogs!!! ❤️

Omfg I just bawled my eyes watching that part of you talking about your grandma. I can also relate a lot. My grandma brought me up because my parents were always busy working and she cooks the BEST food. Even tho other people may not feel like it but I do. I grew up eating her food and I’d eat it for the rest of my life. She literally works so hard every day and would do anything for me and my sisters. Your grandma really is such a hero carrying all those groceries. Haha please update us on your grandma’s reaction after watching this video because she will just see herself in here and see you crying but she won’t understand a word you’re saying.
