@@Rawrkee pretty sure this just happened to me. What symptoms did you have when it died
@Rawrkee3 жыл бұрын
@@ethangrossnickle7055 car won’t stay on. The car is started by the battery, the alternator keeps the car running. If it keeps dying after the engine is running, chances are the alternator is done.

Useful video as I'm replacing my alternator now and this serves as a great reference. Thanks!

My belt keeps squealing every other start up. I went ahead and replaced the belts and come to find out that last bolt you show towards the end is missing. So my alternator is only secured by the top upper bolt.
@Rawrkee4 жыл бұрын
gah deng! Any luck finding that bolt anyway??? You can hit up extremeprelude.com

Great video thanks man. Question for any of you - my car has an electrical sound for lack of better words, it rises and falls with the engine accelerating or decelerating. At first I thought it was due to my amp, then I thought it was the timing belt rubbing on the plastic guard, but now I think it might be the alternator because it comes from that area. The alternator was replaced recently by the previous owner so I am sure it works fine, just wondering if it's cheap and maybe making noise, I've heard of that and am considering replacing it to eliminate the noise assuming that is the noise. Anyone heard of this sort of thing?
@Rawrkee5 жыл бұрын
gray25xt does it sound like a whining noise? If so, a belt could be too tight, either power steering or timing belt
@gray25xt5 жыл бұрын
@@Rawrkee Yes it is a whining noise. I've looked at a number of alternator videos and it sounds like that's what it is. I've read that I can pull the plug on the alternator with the car running to see if the noise goes away, thereby verifying that the noise is coming from the alternator, but I've also heard that that is bad for the car. Gonna look into it more in the next few weeks when I have time.

Hey I had question I got the new alternator on but now the adjustment bolt tensioner won't screw into the hole and I sure I had it same way before I removed it now it won't go in, the whole not stripped because I tried smaller bolt and it went in

@@randolphhaber9190 just make sure you have short stubby wrench so you can get the bolts out , and after it’s loose you can pull it past the AC line , it pulls right out
