Quick Blender Tutorial: How to Model a Knob Cap with Perfect Shading.

Add cylinder > inset faces > extrude faces inward > subdivision surface modifier > shade smooth > smooth by angle modifier > select outer edges of the inset faces > set crease to 1 and you're done. Much faster

Thanks for the suggestion! There are definitely multiple ways to do this. I'll give your method a try. I chose a non-destructive approach with modifiers for my tutorial because it gives me more control over the curved shapes. This makes it easier to adjust the shape by changing one part without having to select multiple vertices around it.
