Alcohol inks are magic. I was surprised at the transfer of ink from Yuppo paper to Multifarious card in that the colours stayed really quite sharp. You can get some unique patterns using alcohol inks.

Another great, informative video - thank you! I have some questions that I hope you don’t mind me asking. Firstly, what is the difference between the lifting ink and blending medium? They both seem to just enable the coloured inks to move more freely so it makes me wonder whether they are just both clear alcohol and, in fact, whether they might be interchangeable. Next, could acetate or vellum be used instead of the yupo or would they not work for some reason? The other question I have is whether there is a way that alcohol inks can be used straight onto your paper or card? I know that the beautiful wash effects are likely not possible, but I’m wondering whether they can be used differently as I’ve never seen them used in any manner other than the way they are used here. Thank you so much for any help!

Hi Felicity, thank you very much for your comment! The blending solution is diluting the alcohol inks and allows them to move around and the lift ink is to lift your background print and transfer to multifarious, this will create a more supple. You can use acetate for working with alcohol inks but we would recommend Yupo card. Tracey doesn't use alcohol inks with anything else, just Yupo. The alcohol inks would absorb and wouldn't move around if using Multifarious. I hope these answers were helpful 🧚‍♀️

Beautifully creative technique! Thank you for this tutorial. May I ask please, how do you clean the brayer after you use the alcohol lift ink?

Thank you! We would recommend removing the excess ink off the brayer onto a scrap piece of card and then wipe the roller with a alcohol free, eco friendly wipe. I hope this helps. Noni, Lavinia Stamps

How is Multifarious cardstock surface differenent from other cardstocks? Love this technique.

Hi, multifarious is tried and tested with several mediums. One card that does it all, from Watercolour Inks to stamping. It works with Oxide inks and Brushos beautifully. The perfect card for all your crafting needs. Superior quality heavyweight 330gsm. I hope this helps. 💚🧚‍♀️

As always, your demonstration of these amazing inks was very helpful. Unfortunately though, I can’t use them as they are highly toxic and the fumes you breath in will damage your lungs. I wonder why more people don’t know about their potential danger to your health. If you wear a fitted respirator while using them, you would be okay. But I’ve never seen anyone do that on KZbin. Do you wear one, Tracey? I hope so.

Can you not just use the typo paper as your card? Cut it down and glue to card base?
