I’ve used it to work two colors. Scrunchies are a good idea!

I love the 2 yarn colors. It reminds me of a plaid. I think I'll give it a try and make a couple for my twin sister. ❤❤❤❤😊

I made a couple of these and plan to make more, thank you for the pattern! I found that when using a DK weight mercerized cotton yarn, I needed to chain 90 stitches to start to get any ruffle/ripple in the scrunchie, otherwise it couldn't really be used as I couldn't twist it and double it over when wearing it. Also, I was having trouble in the beginning with it getting twisted, and having to redo it. I highly recommend picking up the back bump (as is mentioned but not shown in the tutorial) rather than the top or bottom of the chain, as you can't mistake it as easily and accidentally pick up the wrong one. Might be a novice issue, but I'm surely not the only one who struggled with this!

Have had one of those hooks for years, I knew it was for crocheting circles, but never thought to do tunisian or a scrunchie with it. Thanks for the idea :)

Not long started a go at Tunisian crochet and made a really long scalf using this stitch using a multicoloured yarn and had lots of comments on it as doesn't look homemade.❤ My grandmother had some of these hooks and never new what they were for, so big thank you. Xxx

Great video for making scrunches and FYI, the double ended crochet hooks are for using two different colors in order to create a woven look. They do make Circular Tunisian Crochet Hook with a fixed cable or you can get a set of Interchangeable crochet hooks and they do make long straight hooks like your knitting needles.

A double ended crochet hook is also great for Tunisian crochet with two colors in straight rows as well.

I have either a 5mm or 5.5 m double end hook. I have a couple of booklets of patterns for the double end hook. Thanks for a new idea for scrunchies.

2:57 perhaps a twist CAN be your friend? If you are going to twist it anyway because it is a scrunchie?

I thought about this, but I think it will make the continuous stitching really difficult.

Could you then take this concept, and just keep going and make a sleeve?

I bet you could! Haven’t tried it myself, but I’m intrigued 🙃
