Can you get a classic BDDI sound out of it? How would you compare them (besides the obvious)?

So, that was my ultimate goal with this pedal. I wanted to get clean lows, and get the BDDI sound up top. I reached out to Tech 21 for some insight, and their response was, this is a totally different unit than the BDDI and the RBI, and it's not really possible. This video was the closest I was able to get it to sound like any of my favorite classic SansAmp units.

@@charlie-grove BDDI V1 is my main sound for a long time, and i was curious about if xb driver could replace it. Was kinda hoping that i could get classic sansamp sound out of it, plus a little extra fun/drive options...thanks for the video though, very killer sounding with that P of yours!

@@rokonikolic731 That was my exact hope for it. My BDDI has been so good to me for over a decade. My honest opinion is that the XB Driver cannot replace or replicate the BDDI or the RBI...

@@rokonikolic731 I had preordered it back in January, and finally got it end of September. It's still not available after the first run.. My honest 2 cents, if you like the BDDI sound, this isn't for you. I had better luck with my HX Stomp crossing over the signal and getting a clean low end and using their "ZeroAmp" pedal.

walk us through the bass build. player neck? warmoth body?

I’m so glad you asked! I’ll make a whole video of it, but the body is actually a Squier VM Jaguar. I filled the jazz pickup spot and the battery cavity. It’s a MIM Fender p bass neck that I picked up second hand at a local shop. The pickup is an eBay Artec big pole. I painted the body also using lace and used automotive 2k clear coat.
