Perfect Gumpaste recipe for humid conditions.
This tutorial shows the making of Gumpaste which is perfect for Modelling (Modelling Paste) and Flower Making (Flower Paste) for cake decoration. Gumpaste is widely used for making the decoration elements, flower and figures on cakes.
Ingredients:
1. Icing Sugar - 3 1/2 Cup or 450 gm
2. Corn Syrup - 1 tbsp
3. Powdered Gelatin - 1 tbsp
4. CMC or Tylose powder - 1 tbsp
5. Water - 1/4 Cup or 60 ml
6. Clear Vanilla Essence* - 1 tsp
* Flavouring is optional. You can use any flavourings but should be clear with out any color which will give you a pure white gumpaste.
Storage:
* We can keep this well sealed Gumpaste in the
Fridge or Chiller for upto 3 to 6 months.
* when we want to use, take out the required
portions of Gumpaste from the Fridge
and keep at the room temperature for some hours.
* After it reaches room temperature knead it once
again so that it will be soft and elastic.As it is a
quick dry Gumpaste, cling wrap the
leftovers after use.
* Flowers and figures made with Gumpaste can be stored
in an airtight container which will last for 1 to 2 years
as long as it is protected from moisture and humidity.
