I wonder, if when mixing the milk paint with water, if yiu take into count the bonding agent... 50 paint, 25 water 25 bonding agent so it doesn't thin the paint too much. I really like how that candle holder turned out though, almost looks like patina and rust. You've a good eye for colour combo 😉

Those white birds you are always finding. Are from the late 70s and early 80s. They are from those at home parties. It wasn’t from Interior Designs but a company, who’s name started with Ho. My mom had those birds, And she was told to clean them with baking soda and water. I dusted those birds sooooo many times. I will never forget them. ❤😊❤. Take care, Hon. Laura, Army and Marine Mom.

Hey Sammie I will give you a tip, use the bonding agent, but wax the parts where you would like it to chip! 🤷♀️ just take a candle and mark it up then paint and you will be able to easily sand those spots and it will look great!
@UnicornDustDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thank you Dawn!! I will definitely give that a try. But how do I keep it from looking watery when adding the bond?
@Dawns_Creative_Carousel Жыл бұрын
@@UnicornDustDesigns how about counting the bonding agent as liquid? And whatever you add of that then add dry mix… I have never used a bonding agent because I painted on sanded wood, but it makes sense to me 🤷♀️ my best friends husband is a chemical engineer and he works for a paint company he actually made a lot of plaids color splays they still use, I will ask him and come back and let you know 💜
@Dawns_Creative_Carousel Жыл бұрын
@@UnicornDustDesigns yeah my upcycled life has a video with that wax trick and I think it would be perfect for the struggle you’re in with this paint 😂 if you want to get more clarity on it
@Dawns_Creative_Carousel Жыл бұрын
@@UnicornDustDesigns alright I just went and read two very long posts to try to find the answer, one thing I read you can use the bonding agent straight from the bottle like primer but no chippy look, so basically the bonding agent not only makes it stick to surfaces but is also designed to stop the chipping in the paint, me personally I would maybe find something real small and practice different ways with it, I would try using primer or even matte clear spray paint mix the milk paint without the agent, try what I said and count the bonding agent like liquid, and so on, I honestly think of you give the milk paint something to adhere to you would be fine without the agent and that’s what I would try first and go from there! Good luck and happy crafting!

Those vintage doves are carved alabaster made in Italy. They should not be exposed to water as the water can dissolve them. I have seen some reproductions made of porcelain. If you hadn’t painted them you could have resold them on eBay and made quite a profit.
